Electrical / Mechanical Technician

job summary: A Electrical / Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Concord, NC area. This job is responsible for providing hands-on electrical and mechanical support for automation equipment, with a focus on installation, troubleshooting, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration in a manufacturing environment. location: Concord, North Carolina job type: Contract salary: $21.69 - 33.35 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Associates responsibilities: Electrical Responsibilities • Provide 2nd and 3rd level hands-on troubleshooting for electrical and process issues on production equipment. • Specify and integrate components (e.g., sensors, cables, motors, drives) into existing systems. • Fabricate and install basic electrical systems (e.g., junction boxes, low-complexity panels). • Identify vendors, obtain quotes, and order components as needed. • Support process start-up, design, and document mechanical/electrical systems for new or modified equipment. • Revise electrical equipment drawings and update documentation as needed. • Oversee work done by contract trades during equipment installation and conversion. • Debug and resolve issues during system commissioning. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, mechanical, process, and electrical engineers). Required Experience: 5+ years in a relevant technician or engineering support role. Required Skills • Hands-on electrical troubleshooting using meters in an industrial setting. • Experience with automation systems (PLCs, motors, drives). • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. • Mechanical system design and integration experience. • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD). • Knowledge of drafting standards. • Experience with machine shops and vendors for part procurement. • Mechanical troubleshooting (pneumatics, flow control, material handling). • Ability to manage tradespeople during assembly/installation. • Familiarity with LOTO, OSHA, and NFPA 70E standards. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). LARGE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN CONCORD NC IS LOOKING FOR A 3RD SHIFT ELECTRICAL MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE SHARP WITH ELECTRICAL: WIRING MOTORS, PLCS, VFDS, ETC. SHIFT: 3RD SHIFT SUN-THURS 11PM-7AM OR 2ND SHIFT MON-FRI 3PM-11PM Pay Rate: $35.50-$37.50 HOURLY Main Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Must be able to wire electrically and troubleshoot circuits quickly utilizing control schematics, ladder diagrams, and point wiring without documentation to avoid shut downs on equipment. • Must be able to add and modify control circuitry as required to facilitate improvements. • Ability to troubleshoot and repair related mechanical and pneumatic functions and controls as required to facilitate repairs and improvements. • Provide technical support and assistance to maximize yield. • Determine root causes of chronic failures and take steps to eliminate/alleviate. • Instruct and assist operators to assure quality and output requirements are met. • Generate and maintain records as required by specific processes.
