HVAC Mechanical Technician Level 3

We have a great opportunity for a Commercial HVAC Technician in the Greater Charlotte NC area to become part of a rapidly growing division. This individual is responsible for delivering and installing HVAC equipment to a variety of customer sites for emergencies or scheduled events. They will provide professional, respectful service while performing work and/or solving on-site challenges. This position reports to the Regional Service Manager, Critical Power Operations. Key Job Responsibilities • Reliable attendance and punctuality. • Deliver and install telecommunications HVAC equipment. • Ensure all work is performed according to safety regulations and building codes. • Review mechanical and technical manuals and project specifications to understand project requirements. • Develop detailed work plans and timelines. • Estimate material needs and procure necessary equipment. • Conduct pre- and post- inspections to verify quality and compliance. • Conduct regular quality checks throughout the project. • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and identify solutions. • Maintain detailed project documentation including progress reports, work orders and inspection reports. • Coordinate problem resolution with Technical Support, Customer Service, Sales, and other personnel to expedite repairs. • Track activity and progress by communicating job notes and updates with your team. • Prepare necessary reports for project management and clients. • Travel to other branches or sites, as required, to assist with product installation, removal, or repairs. • Implement quality control measures to ensure project standards are met. • Proactively identify and address potential quality issues. • Conduct regular quality checks throughout the project. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Key Performance Measurements • A score card that reflects performance in areas such as safety, efficiency, work order completion, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution. • Exercise high degree of time management skill, resulting in greater than 90% time billable to customers. • Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness and ability to learn new skills and information. • Other key performance indicators as assigned. Requirements • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required. • 5+ years of HVAC install and service experience. • Certification from a technical school focused on Journeyman HVAC/Mechanical, preferred. • Must have a valid driver’s license, pass a background check, and drug screen. • May be required to pass additional requirements under the Department of Transportation (DOT). • Possess general knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements. • Strong desire to deepen expertise in HVAC diagnostics, service, and responsibilities, taking on more complex challenges with each year of employment. • Working knowledge of HVAC machines and tools, including the designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. • Familiarity with the use of test equipment e.g., Digital Variable Multi (DVM), and refrigeration test equipment. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Ability to organize their own work and work independently, with limited supervision. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft TEAMS platforms. • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices. • Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs. • Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships. • Possess a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. • Requires heavy travel, some evening, weekends and overnight travel. SHIFT: 3RD SHIFT SUN-THURS 11PM-7AM Pay Rate: $33-$35 HOURLY Main Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Must be able to wire electrically and troubleshoot circuits quickly utilizing control schematics, ladder diagrams, and point wiring without documentation to avoid shut downs on equipment. • Must be able to add and modify control circuitry as required to facilitate improvements. • Ability to troubleshoot and repair related mechanical and pneumatic functions and controls as required to facilitate repairs and improvements. • Provide technical support and assistance to maximize yield. • Determine root causes of chronic failures and take steps to eliminate/alleviate. • Instruct and assist operators to assure quality and output requirements are met. • Generate and maintain records as required by specific processes. Assist in defining process verification procedures. • Set-up and maintain as required MRO spare parts inventory requirements. • Perform and record preventive maintenance and equipment calibration as required. • Participate as a team member in product and/or process trouble-shooting processes as required to solve existing problems and as a means of providing cost improvement for the end product. • Keep supervisor informed in all areas effecting product quality and output. • Interface and work directly with other support personnel i.e. Set-up, Process, Product, Engineers. • Equipment used: All equipment used by Maintenance Technicians plus specialized electrical test, troubleshooting, and programming equipment such as VOM, Oscilloscope, programming terminals, and other supporting equipment as required. • Materials used: All types of electrical and electromechanical control equipment including various PLC's, sensors, distributed control schemes, various input and output devices, analog and digital control devices, DC and stepper drives, various motion and motor controls, and other electrical and control equipment as required. • Ability to troubleshoot and repair related mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic fuctions and controls as required to facilitate repairs and improvements. • Other related duties as needed. • Total responsibility to eliminate non-conformance within quality of products. Mechanical Engineer (Product)

At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Legrand/Pass & Seymour Team in Concord, NC. Role: Responsible for the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products. These activities must support the company's goals of increasing market share and profitability through creativity and innovation. What Will You Do? Main Job Duties: • Work with the Marketing Product Line Manager to provide assistance in developing the product specification. Gain consensus on design with marketing and manufacturing. Determine the appropriate codes and standards, testing requirements, end user preferences / trends, and competitive product analysis. • Create sketches, 3D files and prototype designs to express all the different options that are used to satisfy the product requirements. Evaluate these concepts to choose the best design based on customer requirements. Create final 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks and other CAD software to refine, develop and finalize the design. • Work with our patent attorney to avoid patent infringement and to protect Pass & Seymour's intellectual property by obtaining patents. • Work with Electrical Engineers to integrate Electrical Circuits (Printed Circuit Boards) into the product designs. • Refine and complete product design through modeling, prototyping, testing, analysis, piloting, and inspection of processes and first articles. Work closely with Advanced Manufacturing, Tool Shops and Manufacturing to procure prototype and production product components. • Produce and update necessary documentation to support production including engineering drawings and specifications, bills of materials, and quality requirements and testing. • Manage projects to rapid and effective completion including spanning departmental gaps. • Performs other similar and related duties as required Required Skills Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) minimum Experience: 5 -10 years of relevant experience preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: • Must have product design experience with electro-mechanical assembly design, injection molded component design and progressive die stamped component design. • Must have experience with designing products for low cost and high-volume manufacturing processes. • Must be proficient with 3D CAD software. Experience in SolidWorks is preferred. • Must be proficient in use of CAD / Engineering Document management tools such as SolidWorks EPDM. • Must have ability to perform engineering calculations to evaluate designs. Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) preferred. • Must demonstrate creativity in the development of new or revised product design concepts. • Must have strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively. • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
