Growth Opportunities: Advancement available within engineering and operations leadership Essential Duties/Responsibilities • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes (Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, etc.) • Collaborate with production teams to optimize line performance, reduce downtime, and improve throughput • Design, develop, and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues alongside maintenance and production personnel • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements through data analysis • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility expansions • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards • Document engineering processes and maintain technical records • Support new product and process trials from concept to production scale-up Qualifications Education/Training/Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar Engineering degrees. (Required) Related Experience • Previous co-op/internship or full-time experience in a food and beverage manufacturing or industrial setting preferred • Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated experience in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing • Knowledge of FDA, USDA, or food safety regulations (HACCP, GMPs, SQF, etc.) a plus. Knowledge/Skills Experience • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Familiarity with lean tools (5S, value stream mapping, kaizen, etc.) and root cause methodologies • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus • Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, or industrial processes a plus Travel Requirements: Minimal to and from different sites within Alamance County.
