Responsibilities will include the development of scopes of work, equipment specifications & data sheets, equipment list, vendor coordination and technical bid evaluations from front –end engineering phase to detailed design phase and construction support. Principal Responsibilities: • Leads a team of engineers and designers in the engineering design for multiple projects and multiple clients with minimal supervision or function as a SME. Responsible for all engineering and design activities of individuals on these projects and for the quality of design and engineering products for assigned projects. • Develop conceptual designs and evaluate alternative designs for suitability on the project. The bases for the systems evaluations are any combination of constructability, performance, energy efficiency, durability, reliability, maintainability, simplicity of operation, first cost, life-cycle cost, and environmental issues. • Manage Mechanical scope change as required to complete deliverables within approved budgets and schedules. • Coordinates work with other disciplines, departments, construction, site-based personnel, vendors, subcontractors and the client. • Establishes and reviews work plans, staffing requirements and schedules for assigned team and project. • Reviews and approves all engineering drawings, calculations and specifications for compliance with established procedures, design standards, project requirements and cost estimates. When responsible for work, stamps as a PE. This role is for you if you have these skills: • Develop equipment specifications for various equipment and equipment skids. • Work closely with vendors to determine appropriate equipment for projects • Working knowledge of industry and standards • Experience in the development of the equipment costs for capital cost estimates • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications, and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages; Effective verbal and written communication skills And if you have these qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Required • 10+ years experience required • PE Preferred • 6-10+ years experience in EPC industry or with an operating company directly related to the nuclear and/or fossil industry including but not limited to specification and design of large, high-energy rotating equipment and other power industry equipment. Specific experience with combustion turbines, seam turbines and/or RICE is preferred Additional experience with other heavy industrial markets is a plus • Ability to successfully pass background screening process. In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $114,880 - $172,320. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
