Material Handling Engineering Specialist

Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Material Handling Engineering Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing material handling systems and equipment, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials across various stages of production or distribution, including planning and programing the AGVs, AMR, and Palletizing Robots. This role involves evaluating current material handling operations, providing technical expertise, and leading improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. (Layout and Logistical Route Development) • Review project specifications to determine the concept of Material Flow inside of FIA • Follow standardized work instruction, including all safety policies and procedures • Determine and plan the FIA layout based on process needs, available space and utilities • Study and improve current and future material handling processes and equipment for conveyance routes • Develop Logistical Standardized work including the work time • Lead cycle time calculation and analysis to kaizen the processes • Steady and Periodical skill sharing for the logistics and production leaders. • Other job duties as assigned (Material Handling Equipment development and installation) • Plan and design Material Handling automated equipment for current and future model safety and efficiency improvements. • Consistently learn the new ways and technologies for automated material handling and movements • Help create capital budget • Oversee a variety of automated equipment designs and processes • Maintain and update equipment drawings as needed • Create and regularly update equipment installation, modification, and trail schedules • Program and Teach the material handling automated equipment for both new installation and update the existed equipment • Lead new equipment buyoff activities • Develop a maintenance method for the newly installed automated material handling equipment • Investigate and resolve machinery, quality, and efficiency issues • Other job duties as assigned. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions of this position. • Work Environment: Work is typically performed in both an office and production environment and weekend • Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machines, calculator and any other equipment related to functional area. • Must have prior experience with drafting software such as CAD • Must be able to use software includes the use of Windows Operating System, MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access database, etc), and Internet • Noise Levels: Moderate Noise • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and the individual must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the production floor, which includes head protection, hearing protection; eye protection, gloves, sleeves and steel-toes safety shoes, high visibility vest. Assistant Plant Engineer

Position Overview: Lewis Bakeries is searching for an Assistant Plant Engineer to report directly to the Bakery Chief Engineer while being responsible for supervising all positions within the Maintenance Department and that will work collectively with the Chief Engineer to coordinate and discuss plans to maximize the bakery performance. The Assistant Plant Engineer will be in charge of assisting and coordinating the supporting bakery maintenance team to achieve a safe and efficient completion of the workload. The Assistant Plant Engineer is also accountable for execution of preventative maintenance schedules for process equipment and maintaining up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures. Lewis Bakeries operates on a 24-hour continuous schedule; the Assistant Plant Engineer must be available as needed. The Assistant Plant Engineer generally works the opposite shift of the Chief Engineer to maximize departmental leadership exposure. Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot and repair Packaging, Conveyors, Ovens, Boilers, Refrigeration and related Bakery Machinery. • Supervise/Perform repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, PLC, bakery machinery and equipment. • Ability to set-up all general machines and supporting equipment as assigned. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, wrapping machines, natural gas fired furnaces, gas fryers, dough mixers, batching and scaling systems, boilers, freezers and Conveyor systems etc. • Supervise/Perform routine set-up and maintenance work as required. • Maintain Preventative maintenance schedules. • Validate that Preventative maintenance functions have been completed timely and correctly.
