The Opportunity Our USGO/American Gulf Region/ Celestine Area Team is seeking a Skilled Mechanical Technician to meet the needs of our growing business and join our Madisonville Compressor Station Team in Madisonville, Kentucky. The successful candidate will work on a team responsible for safe operation and maintenance of a high pressure natural gas pipeline system, turbine engine driven compressor station, gas measurement facilities, and other related facilities. This position is overtime eligible and extended work hours including nights and weekends may be required on occasion without advance notice. Must be a self-starter, working in a small team environment, capable of working with minimal direct supervision, who possesses excellent problem solving, communication and decision-making skills. The individual must be able to exercise judgement in selecting efficient work methods, troubleshoot complex problems, and provide meaningful recommendations to improve standard practices. The role applies skills and aptitude to work independently on maintenance and repair work for natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment, with the capability to provide direction to junior peers. The regular work schedule for this position will be: M-F 6:30am – 3:00 pm (OT as required)  What You'll Do • Demonstrate safety leadership & excellence • Actively participates in a small Team environment, acquiring and applying required qualifications and assisting in planning, problem solving, prioritization, and decision making processes • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired turbine engines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment • Assist in full or partial turbine engine/gas compressor overhauls • Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projects • Initiate corrective action to review and improve maintenance procedures • Performing line locates on company pipelines and/or utilities, corrosion control/prevention activities, line patrols and associated ROW maintenance, all within Company Operating Procedures • Inspections, operation, and minor repairs on portable work equipment and mobile work equipment • Safely operate & maintain Company vehicles and other portable/mobile work equipment, including safety inspections, and minor maintenance • Properly use a variety of hand and power tools • Read and interpret drawings and schematics • Perform other tasks as defined by the Team, maintain required records, and maintain general housekeeping & appearance of assigned Team facilities • Utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering, and filing of various forms (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) • Perform precision measurement and alignment functions • Analyze engine performance reports • Read, interpret, and update drawings and schematics • Assist with pipeline repairs as necessary • Operate and maintain valves and operators • Inspect, repair, and set regulators and relief valves • Blow down, purge, and pressurize pipelines and/or stations  • Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAP  • Make meaningful impacts to the team by providing expert knowledge to improve standard work practices • Other tasks as required Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent  • Relevant natural gas or energy industry experience (Energy, Natural Gas or Military)  • 5+ years of relevant work experience • Effective written & verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative, team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with others, to support team and company objectives, and willingness to assist in all areas i.e. Controls, pipeline, or measurement as required by team • Candidate must exhibit a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and effectively execute tasks in a dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications • Journeyman ticket or two years of vocational/technical training from a recognized institution • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting power turbine and large bore reciprocating engines • Knowledge of internal combustion engines, reciprocating and centrifugal gas compressors, turbines, and standby generators • Experience interpreting technical reference documents and reading drawings • Computerized maintenance management system and SAP experience • Working knowledge of various pneumatic and hydraulic systems • Knowledge of Pipeline operations and processes, including excavations, heavy equipment This Position Requires Candidates To: • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcohol testing • Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home • Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditions • All employees subject to random drug testing throughout term of employment About Our Business TC Energy is a leading energy infrastructure company in North America. Job Description Summary The Engineer in the Shop (EIS) position is an experienced engineer reporting to a Defense Engines, DIME, Tactical Response Team Sub-Section Manager. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Aerospace manufacturing • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
