See More Details >>Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the repairing and maintaining all equipment in the Golf Course Maintenance Department, in addition to performing equipment operator duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to: • Assists with the comprehensive preventative maintenance program which includes the repair of failing equipment and sharpening of all cutting units. • Assists with the preventative maintenance program within budget on all equipment. • Assists with the purchasing of repair parts and replacement supplies as needed to maintain a working inventory of essential items. • Communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of the equipment to the Golf Course Superintendent. • Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including: diesel, electric, and gasoline powered carts, tractors, mowers and other mechanical equipment used. • Assists with the instruction and/or training golf course maintenance workers regarding preventative maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment. • Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work. • Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course and services or supervise the servicing of equipment prior to use. • Regulates the use of equipment by maintenance employees if needed • Assists with keeping the shop maintenance area, and ensures, a safe, clean, and organized work space. • Mows greens, tees, collars, approaches, rough and fairways • Aerifies greens; verticuts tees and greens • Utilizes backhoe/loader to move dirt, debris, and other materials • Performs basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed and returns equipment to designated location in maintenance facility. • Drives tractor and trailer to haul materials and debris • Operates portable pumps. • Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor including but not limited to those of a Level I Equipment Operator • Helps to keep accurate and complete Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) records for all products used This list is not intended to be all-inclusive, and you may not be responsible for every item listed.
