Mechanical Technician

It is the role of the MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN to ensure a high level of technical support to the plant operations and to identify sources of complications by observing mechanical devices while in operation and tune in for issues by utilizing accuracy and inspection instruments. Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality. Candidates with AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE are strongly encouraged to apply. $20+ STARTING BASED ON EXPERIENCE. The individual vying for this post will require sufficient understanding of metal properties, layout, troubleshooting industrial machines, and shop mathematics. It may also involve altering or assembling components of equipment. • Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble • Fabricate, disassemble and assemble production equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts • Replace, fix or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments • Lubricates and cleans parts • Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling and packaging production equipment • Performs general maintenance and minor repairs to building, including minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician • Read and interpret equipment manuals • Maintain activity logs • Other duties assigned by Supervisor or Management Requirements • Proven experience in a technical maintenance role • Working knowledge of diverse machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.) • Understanding of production procedures • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear) • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals • Analytical skills and attention to detail • Teamwork and good communication skills • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work overtime • Physical demands require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling • Ability to work in temperature-controlled cold food processing rooms (45f or colder) continuously for up to 4 hours • Ability to work in freezers (with protective gear) • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus Benefits • Great Opportunity to Grow with Dynamic Emerging Food Products Company • Holiday, PTO Days • 401K
