This senior role requires a highly experienced engineer to architect robust mechanical solutions for an autonomous system designed to operate in rugged, all-weather conditions. The candidate will be responsible for leading complex design challenges, performing advanced analysis, mentoring junior engineers, and driving the project from concept through production. Key Responsibilities: Lead Mechanical Design & Architecture: • Lead the conceptual and detailed mechanical design of the drone dock system, including precision alignment and landing mechanisms, environmental seals and enclosures, and thermal management systems. • Architect robust and reliable solutions for long-term outdoor deployment. • Create and oversee the development of detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Advanced Engineering Analysis: • Perform and lead complex Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for stress, vibration, and thermal performance to ensure system reliability and durability. • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to guarantee the fit and function of intricate assemblies. • Utilize analysis results to drive design optimization for performance, weight, and cost. Prototyping, Validation & Testing: • Lead the strategy for prototyping and testing, from initial proof-of-concept models to production-intent hardware. • Develop comprehensive validation and verification plans to test against rigorous performance, environmental, and reliability requirements (e.g., IP rating, wind loading, thermal cycling). • Oversee the assembly and testing of prototypes, analyze results, and drive design improvements. Technical Mentorship & Collaboration: • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior mechanical and mechatronics engineers. • Lead technical design reviews and serve as a key decision-maker for the mechanical team. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and systems engineering, to ensure a seamlessly integrated product. • Interface with external vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and quality. Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred. • 5-8+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of designing and launching complex electromechanical products. • Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is highly preferred). • Advanced skills in FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation). • Demonstrated experience designing ruggedized systems for outdoor or harsh environments, including knowledge of material selection, corrosion resistance, and environmental sealing (IP ratings). • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and casting. • Experience leading projects or mentoring other engineers. • Direct experience in designing, developing, or working on UAS/drone docking or charging stations is a highly preferred qualification. • Experience with robotics, automation, or complex mechatronic systems is a significant plus. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. This role involves working on all stages of the product development lifecycle, from conceptual design and detailed engineering to prototyping, testing, and production support. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and hands-on experience in the design of aerospace structures and mechanisms. Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Design & Development: • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for UAS, including primary and secondary airframe structures, landing gear, control surfaces, and payload integration mechanisms. • Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks). • Produce comprehensive 2D manufacturing drawings with appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Structural & Thermal Analysis: • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze stress, strain, and vibration of mechanical components and assemblies to ensure structural integrity and optimize for weight. • Conduct thermal analysis to manage heat dissipation for onboard electronics and systems. • Interpret analysis results to guide design decisions and recommend improvements. Materials & Manufacturing: • Select appropriate materials, including composites, polymers, and advanced alloys, for various applications based on structural requirements, weight targets, and environmental considerations. • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA). • Support the development of manufacturing processes and tooling. Prototyping & Testing: • Work hands-on to support the fabrication, assembly, and integration of prototypes and test articles. • Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance, durability, and reliability of mechanical systems. • Analyze test data and author comprehensive test reports. Collaboration & Documentation: • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers (aerospace, electrical, software, systems) to ensure successful system integration. • Maintain organized and detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, analysis reports, and test procedures. • Participate in design reviews and contribute to a culture of technical excellence. Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Production Mechanic

Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Packaging Mechanic to join our production team. The Packaging Mechanic will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of packaging machinery. The ideal candidate must have the ability to quickly diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and ensure production runs efficiently. Experience with lathe and milling machines for part fabrication is a plus.
