Industrial mechanical maintenance technician

Summary: The Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician/for welding/ metal fabrication/ fiberglass involves the maintenance, repair, and optimization of industrial machinery and heavy equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a range of mechanical systems and equipment, a strong troubleshooting ability, and a commitment to safety and quality. Work week is Mon- Thursday, 6am to 4:30 pm. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, heavy equipment, and related systems in 2 general buildings • Equipments that we work with are the following: Hydraulic presses, welding machines, automated saws, air systems, lathes, CNC & manual, pneumatic equipment, water jet machine • Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions. • Replace defective parts, such as gears, bearings, and other components. • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure. • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical problems and develop appropriate repair strategies. • Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper setup and calibration for optimal performance. • Adjust and fine-tune equipment settings based on operational requirements. • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent. • Prepare reports on equipment status and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades. • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance and repairs. • Ensure that all work is compliant with industry standards and regulations. • Work closely with other team members to address equipment-related issues and improve overall efficiency. • Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing maintenance projects and future needs. • Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition. • Follow all company safety and security procedures. • Maintains safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily Skills and Knowledge requirement: • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field preferred. • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, particularly with heavy equipment and industrial machinery. • Electrical experience is a plus • Good communication skills. Spanish speaker is not mandatory, but it is a plus. • Punctual, reliable and conscientious with strong attention to detail and accuracy • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. • The ability to multitask, prioritize and drive projects is a must. • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently. • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., noise, dust, temperature extremes). • Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tasks effectively. Additional Functions: • Additional duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. • Occasionally overtime might be required.
