Mechanical Design Engineer

Actalent is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer. You must have experience designing products in Solidworks to be considered for this position. Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer Location: Onsite – St. Joseph (MO) Key Responsibilities: ·Design and Development of modular kits (“options”) including parts, assemblies, mounting hardware, and installation documentation. ·Evaluate concepts using preliminary Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks Simulation to ensure compliance with client acceptance criteria. ·Assess designs for manufacturability, ease of assembly, serviceability, and financial viability. ·Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools, incorporating appropriate materials, tolerances, and finishes. ·Participate in design reviews and manage releasing workflows within the client’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. ·Estimate timelines and resource requirements for each work request. ·Resolve technical queries and coordinate with extended delivery teams to ensure effective work delivery. ·Maintain project trackers, detailed plans, and delivery reports for regular governance reviews. Qualification: ·Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. ·3+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development. ·Proficiency in SolidWorks (including Simulation tools) and CAD documentation. ·Experience with PLM systems and design release processes. ·Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
