Maintenance Mechanic

Position: Maintenance Mechanic - Full Time! Location: St Joseph, Missouri Pay: Up to $41/hr. with room to grow and this is based on experience! Bonus: Potential to earn a 4% bonus based on the overall performance of the plant! Training: Must be able to train on 1st shift Shifts: 3rd Shift • 3rd Shift - 11pm to 7:18am (Sunday night - Friday Morning) Benefits: Benefits Start 31st Day of Employment and college tuition reimbursement! Our St. Joseph, Missouri distribution center charges, packages and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. We opened in 2000, now employ more than 280 people and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through The United Way, Camp Quality, Second Harvest Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity. What you will be doing! Under direction of Maintenance Supervisor has the responsibility of all equipment, plant, building, and grounds maintenance. Carries out the preventative maintenance program (TPM). Must be able to perform Maintenance Mechanic A duties as outlined in the Maintenance Mechanic A job description. Will be required to train all new mechanics and technicians on existing and new equipment. Must perform and develop all assigned calibrations of existing and future equipment. Troubleshoot and modify all electrical, PLC, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics of equipment in a 5S fashion using all TPM guidelines and ensure we meet government codes. Will perform TAE tasks as needed. Must acquire enough knowledge of Maximo system to back up the TPM/Maintenance Supervisor. Will be required to develop special projects to help improve safety, production, plus reduce scrap. Will need to use production and maintenance reports to self-initiate these projects. Maintains records and reports and contacts suppliers, as needed. Will be assigned a company phone and must notify supervisor of needs that arise and refer major decisions or problems to plant management. Participate in focus groups such as scrap and safety. Performs all other duties as directed by supervisors. How you will do it! • Emphasis on safe work practices, adherence to LOTO procedures and use of PPE. • Troubleshooting and repairing of machinery, conveyors, and robotics. • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. • Must have knowledge of 120, 208, and 480 VAC circuits. • Experience with conveyors, electronics, PLC hardware and ladder logic required. • Understanding of motor control circuitry (VFDs, soft starts etc.) required. • May be required to set up and operate one or all of the following machines: lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, power saws, etc. • Must be able to read schematics and blueprints. • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. • Perform preventive maintenance to assure maximum equipment functionality. • Adhere to, implement, follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
