Job Description The Mechanical Design Scanning Technician will spend their day performing 3D scanning of bolt-on accessories offered to customers. These items are typically the size of a PlayStation or smaller, including fire extinguishers and toolboxes. The technician will place parts on a turntable, apply stickers, and use a 3D scanning gun to create images. Once scanned, files are saved and emailed for further processing into 3D models used in assembly manuals and customer renderings. Responsibilities • Perform 3D scanning of various truck accessories. • Use turntable and 3D scanning gun to create detailed images. • Save and email scanned files for further processing. • Complete approximately 15-20 parts per day. • Potentially assist with final 3D modeling if backlog is cleared. Essential Skills • Proficiency in SolidWorks. • Basic understanding of 3D scanning and modeling. • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). • Ability to learn new software quickly.
