Reliability Engineer

Description Epsilyte, a leader in Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) manufacturing, is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our plant operations through data-driven strategies, equipment optimization, and proactive maintenance. Position Overview: The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for identifying and implementing reliability improvements to enhance plant performance and reduce unplanned downtime. This role will focus on mechanical integrity, predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, and root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to ensure equipment longevity and process efficiency. The right candidate is dedicated to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Position Duties/Responsibilities: • Develop and implement reliability programs and asset strategies that focus on equipment availability, reliability, safe operation, and maintenance cost optimization, including development and refinement of PM's, and ensuring compliance activities are covered in the programs. • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective actions. • Utilize predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, oil analysis, etc.) to optimize equipment operation and control maintenance costs. • Develop quality scopes of repair for site equipment and support capital projects and Mi Coordinator by providing reliability-focused input on equipment selection and design. • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to optimize asset performance. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance strategies, including FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), Failure Mode Cause Analysis (FMCA), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Life Cycle Analysis. • Own the Site Relief System Program that includes conducting relief system assessments, recommending proper mitigations, and owning compliance driven preventative maintenance tasks. • Develop, implement, and maintain effective monthly reliability key performance indicators to communicate program health, asset reliability, and risk performance. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company safety policies. • Be a positive change agent and implement continuous improvement strategies that yield sustainable results. • Other duties as assigned or interested. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical). • Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical process environment. • Outstanding knowledge of safety policies, programs, and procedures. • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive reliability initiatives. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software, plus outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to lead a team are essential for success. • Physical ability to work in an industrial environment, including wearing PPE, climbing stairs and ladders, willingness to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances. • Ability to wear personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, clothes, heeled boots, and hearing protection). • This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing rule or "TWIC" and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific period. Preferred Qualifications: • 3+ years of reliability, maintenance, or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, or refining industries. • Knowledge of RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance), predictive maintenance, and asset management principles. • Experience conducting root-cause analysis incident investigations. Reports to: Reliability and Maintenance Manager Wage and Benefits Transparency: The final base pay offer for this position will be determined by individual factors such as location, external market factors, internal equity, and the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position's expected salary range is $83,000 to $110,000 per year. This role is eligible for benefits, annual bonuses, and profit-sharing.
