Job Description - Candidate will spend a majority of their day on the computer in an office to create 2d models - Will primarily be designing within AutoCAD 2d - Application drawings with installation, mounting, and operator dimensioning - Apply standard calculations and guidelines for installation clearances and reaction loads - Pro-actively communicate with customer support and other internal teams to resolve produce configurations - Interpret routine and complex customer quotes and orders to apply custom order detailing and manufacturing instructions - Prepare bill-of-material within the ERP system - Daily use of excel to build spreadsheets and input data - Regular use of algebraic equations to determine proper structural support for garage door products - Will be modeling panels, motors, gears, and chains for garage door systems - Will not be designing anything from scratch, but rather will be updating existing designs - Will be creating assembly manuals for the systems using the CAD models - Utilizing existing CAD templates to start designs - Will be creating a BOM Must Have 1. Associates degree in engineering or related discipline 2. 1+ Years of design experience including internships, school projects, and co-ops 3. Experience with AutoCAD 2d 4. Mathematic aptitude specifically with algebraic equations 5. Working or school experience with MS Excel Nice to Have 1. Experience supporting estimation and quoting of customers 2. Experience creating a BOM based on a design 3. 2+ years of mechanical design in a manufacturing setting for a metals based product Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
