Job Responsibilities: • Perform maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes, related equipment, and mechanical systems typical to millwright work within customer facilities. • Diagnose mechanical and structural issues with equipment in heavy industrial manufacturing environments. • Use millwright skills to install, align, dismantle, and move machinery during major installations, upgrades, and modifications alongside technicians and project engineers. • Be trained to perform documented safety inspections on specific equipment types in accordance with OSHA guidelines. • Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance per applicable standards, consult with customers on noted deficiencies, and complete all required paperwork. • Document hours, services performed, write service acknowledgments, and work within computer systems as required. Qualifications: • HS Diploma or GED • At least 3 years in an industrial environment or similar Military Experience. • Skills and experience in welding, electrical and mechanical maintenance. • Experience as an ironworker, millwright or facilities maintenance is preferred. • Computer literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Ability to interface with internal and external customers. • Travel Required. • Eligible to work various shifts. • Ability to work at customers facilities including the extreme elements indoors and outdoors. • Ability to work from heights. • Work in accordance with OSHA, CMAA, ANSI, ASME, AWS, and other applicable regulations. Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, piping, electrical systems, and facility structures within a fiberglass manufacturing plant. This role requires strong technical skills, a proactive focus on safety, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues to keep production running efficiently. Primary Responsibilities • Participate actively in the preventive maintenance (PM) program, including cleaning and lubricating shafts and bearings, oil changes, belt/filter changes, and radiator maintenance. • Inspect machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions using testing equipment, visual, and audible indicators. • Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild defective machines and equipment; install new or repaired parts using hand and power tools. • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel to diagnose operational issues. • Install and maintain pipe and hose systems related to gel coat, chop, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment (gauges, valves, regulators, quick disconnects, etc.). • Install and maintain compressed air and water piping systems and related equipment. • Operate cutting torches and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts (prior experience preferred). • Repair and maintain facility structures including painting, woodwork, tile, sheetrock, and ceiling tiles. • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems independently or as part of a team. • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Required Skills & Abilities • Strong emphasis on safety and safe work practices. • Knowledge of lubrication techniques and preventive maintenance methods. • Basic understanding of electrical principles. • Ability to attain and maintain a tow motor license. • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and at various heights. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. • Self-reliance, initiative, and ability to work under pressure. • Sound judgment, flexibility, and adaptability. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Punctual and reliable. Education & Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Preferred: Millwright Machine Repair, Electrician, or related Journeyman License. • 3–5 years of relevant maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing environment required. Physical Requirements • Frequent exposure to mechanical and electrical equipment. • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather, and vibration. • Frequent physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and manual handling tasks. • Good vision and hearing required. • Ability to lift up to 49 lbs. consistently, up to 100 lbs. occasionally, and more than 100 lbs. sporadically (team lifts when required).
