Mechanical Engineer - Wheel & Brake

The Mechanical Engineer 3 is responsible for all phases of Wheel & Brake new product development including requirements management, requirements validation, design manufacturing phase, qualification / certification testing and initial entry into service. This involves working with the customers to define and validate design requirements while complying with program cost and schedule requirements. The role also includes support for internal customers to ensure the business delivers its commitments to its contractual customers and operators. Job Core Responsibilities • Act as the Lead Designer or Lead Engineer on assigned projects for multiple LRU’s; plan, direct and coordinate the efforts of the design team for all phases of LRU design development • Responsible for the design of one or more LRU’s on a project or across multiple projects • Works directly with the project team to ensure all program targets are satisfied including technical performance, Cost (NRC, RC) and project milestones (Schedule) • Responsible for maintaining drawing release schedule for assigned LRU’s. This includes support work required from other engineering functions to support the LRU development. • Works closely with supply chain and/or operations to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM) while satisfying the Design to Cost (DTC) targets • Responsible for ensuring drawings are released on time and are in conformance with design and drafting standards • Responsible for the creation or review of internal and external customer deliverables (SDRL’s) as required for a project • Interfaces with the Lead Engineer, Functional Manager and/or other Engineering team members as required to ensure progress is being made while identifying constraints and roadblocks • Work closely with assigned Test Engineers to assist in the development of all qualification test documents and test set-up drawings to ensure qualification test plans verify requirements according to the agreed method of compliance. • Provides input to the preparation of Internal/external design reviews as required • Responsible for coordinating with stress, thermal, vibration and reliability analysis engineers to ensure adequate margins against design requirements are met. • Responsible for coordination with Supply Chain and/or Operations to ensure designs for manufacture while satisfying the Design to Cost targets. • Support and/or lead as applicable Root Cause & Corrective Action for qualification, design, and manufacturing issues. • Required to actively support Continuous Improvement initiatives within the Wheel & Brake department. • Provides guidance to and mentors the junior and less experienced members of the W&B department. • Evaluate technical suggestions pertaining to manufacturing operations and production facility requests for engineering service • Participates in the evaluation of product non-conformances from the production facility with a view to becoming a Material Review Board signatory • Consults with and seeks guidance from the Product Line Expert (PLE), SME (Subject Matter Expert) and Chief Engineers as required Qualifications • Bachelor degree (required) in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience • Extensive product development experience including design and manufacture. • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and working knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes. • Aerospace experience preferred, wheel and brake experience desirable. • Aircraft Systems knowledge or experience preferred. • Experience with Design Failure Mode and Affects (DFMEA) and Risk Analysis • Project Management skills including cost / schedule tracking. • Good communication skills – able to make presentations to customers and lead daily discussions with a group of engineers, designers and technicians. • Available to travel as needed. • Continuous Improvement training preferred. Mechanical Project Manager (MEP, ESCO, Mechanical Retrofit/Installation)

Description Job Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for effectively overseeing and managing the construction of one large and/or multiple smaller scale projects. Projects may be mechanical or multi-disciplined projects in accordance with the established construction budget to ensure customer satisfaction and manage the quality of installation. He/she is responsible for managing the handling of material and labor to ensure timely and smooth-running project(s). He/she is responsible to assist in the training Project Supervisors, Project Foremen and Technicians and to set an example of excellence in work and attitude that will favorably affect all personnel on the project. Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills): • Minimum of a High school diploma or GED is required. • PMP certification (preferred). • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction. • Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience of teams/crews. • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.). • OSHA 30 (if you do not have a valid certification, we will make arrangements for you to obtain the required training). Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. • Create, maintain, and follow a construction schedule assigning appropriate personnel to complete the project on schedule and within budget. • Determine and advise as appropriate on all local laws concerning items such as landfills, carting companies, local mechanical codes and permitting. • Ensure safety practices are followed and the work is performed in a safe productive manner. • Possess the ability to efficiently manage multiple energy efficiency projects concurrently. • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for project foremen and technicians; when appropriate, discipline, train, and/or counsel assigned personnel. • Maintain effective communications at all levels; to include internal and external resources. This will include timely updates to clients, PowerSecure Executives, sub-contractors, agents of code enforcement/permitting, engineers, architects, and employees across various trades. • Manage subcontractors per contractually requirements, both internally and onsite. • Manage a clean and safe work site; cleaning construction areas at the end of the day, proper recycling procedures, and waste disposal in accordance with local ordinances. • Walk project sites before starting installation to identify any specialized equipment required and account for work scheduled accordingly. • Verify the correctness and quality of the work being performed, ensure it fulfills or exceeds customer expectations. • Accurately monitor, track, and maintain records/reporting of all materials utilized and remaining. • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure deliverables are executed in a timely manner. • Must be prepared to procure storage facilities for project materials and equipment. • Create and Maintain Project Risk Plans • Oversee Project Quality Assurance Requirements. • Typical project value is 100K to 5M Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Climbing (ladders), kneeling, reaching, balancing, lifting (up to 40 pounds regularly), working overhead. • May be required to stand for extended periods of time and negotiate uneven terrain. • Environment can vary greatly including indoors and outdoors in various climates including conditioned and unconditioned spaces.
