The Mechanical Engineer improves the performance of various Wahl products from an overall systems perspective, with a focus on the mechanical engineering and engineering mechanics principles. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Responsible for the design, and optimization of motors, blades, and drive system under the supervision of the Senior Mechanical Engineer • Performs analytical and numerical analyses to identify improvement options for the components, subsystems or overall system • Creative problem-solving capacity and the ability to push the limits of what is considered possible. • Provides concise technical reports/formal documentation and clear communication to stakeholders in a timely manner • Leads projects diligently and uses best project management practices. • Structured problem-solving and data-driven approach • Collaborates with Product Management, NPD, Engineering, and Operations to help seamless transition from end user insights all the way to technology deployment. • Leverages internal and external capabilities proactively to accelerate project execution PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering or engineering mechanics. • Creates Value for the Customer by advancing the performance of the system by optimizing the mechanical design aspects • Works cross-functionally internally and with subsidiaries to ensure we are "One Wahl" • Uses an innovative mind-set to continuously improve processes. • Thinks systemically to ensure end-to-end business strategy alignment MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or similar field required • Advanced Degree Preferred • Excellent time management, formal technical reporting and presentation, communication, and meeting facilitation skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with people of diverse backgrounds. • Exhibits strong informal leadership and a fit to the Wahl values ability to lead with humility, respect every individual, focus on continuous improvement and align with the enterprise. This position is central to driving operational development by identifying equipment needs, creating process specifications, collaborating with suppliers and integrators, acquiring, and implementing new systems, and managing equipment validation and acceptance processes. A core focus is on enhancing product safety, performance, manufacturability, and assembly efficiency by addressing challenges in product design, manufacturing workflows, and assembly processes.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Works with confidential information in regard to manufacturing engineering/projects and patents.Stays abreast of technological advances regarding automation and works to meet multiple goals and deadlines of projects.Ensures manufacturing meets production goals while troubleshooting mechanical/operational problems, electrical control programs, and making process adjustments.Develop and oversee capital project purchase orders while adhering to expenditure approval processes and organizational guidelines.Responsible for the design and procurement of automation equipment. Works with vendors/suppliers in the design/development and redesign of automation equipment to ensure manufacturing requirements are met, improve quality, improve productivity, and decrease manufacturing process costs.Troubleshoots electronic controls on automated equipment, programs electronic controllers and makes process adjustments. Supports Process Improvement Technicians on high-level maintenance activities.Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic devices/equipment, in the design/redesign and procurement of automation equipment and in writing company equipment standards. Maintenance Manager Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of a manufacturing facility. This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring optimal performance of equipment, systems, and facilities while proactively improving reliability and minimizing downtime.
