Mechanical Technician

Job Purpose: Work with design/test engineers on building test fixtures, debug circuitry, test setup, equipment maintenance, and/or perform testing. Essential Job Functions: • Set up dynamometers for electric motor and/or inverter testing. • Perform inspection and test as necessary to determine cause of defective electronic assemblies with instruction. • Rework products per company and industry standards. • Build test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support product design as required. • Document and maintain records relating to work performed. • Inform supervisor of process or design problems and assist in the corrective action. • Communicate with others in a professional and effective manner. • Design and build engineering test fixtures. • Perform other associated tasks as required from their supervisor and manager. Required Education: A.S. in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience Required Experience: Minimum one year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering; three or more years preferred Required Skills/Abilities: • Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing • Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components • Possess a thorough understanding of diagnostic equipment and methods, e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes • Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause • Ability to read intermediate engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams • Maintain necessary product records and documentation • Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets • Ability to assemble and disassemble products • Ability to maintain lab equipment • Ability to perform mechanical work • Ability to train an Electronics Technician I • Ability to work with minimal supervision Preferred Skills: • Ability to solder • Strong mechanical aptitude • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components Experience in one or more of the following areas: • 3D Printing • Electronics • Electrician/Electrical Contracting • High Voltage Electrical Safety • Electric motor repair • On-road/off-road Automotive Repair • Communication/Networking hardware • Computer repair • Robotics • Automation • Mechatronics • HVAC • Farming #INDOEM
