Manufacturing Engineer 1

Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer 1 is responsible for providing technical support for the day-today production activities in the manufacture of custom, plastic components used in the assemblies of various medical devices. Responsibilities: • Provides process support for extrusion department • Hands-on position with visibility on the manufacturing floor • Requires a high level of interaction with the production, product development, and quality teams • Supports product development activities, continuous improvement, complaint resolution, CAPA investigations and other quality initiatives • Supports production departments’ manufacturing issues with technical support as the process expert. Uses strong reasoning and problem-solving skills to investigate and analyze complex problems to determine root cause and implement innovative solutions to prevent recurrence • Supports and drives continuous improvement activities in the manufacturing department to improve operational performance. Leads technical aspect of process validation projects • Assist product development teams with design for manufacturability requirements on new products. Supports new capital equipment and tooling purchases with appropriate documentation and evaluation • Manages multiple technically oriented projects through coordinating internal and external resources • Collaborates on product complaint resolution Qualifications: • High School Diploma with applicable experience is required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Plastics Engineering preferred • 3+ years of extrusion process development experience • 5+ years of work related to polymer processing preferred • Process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) preferred • Equipment qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) preferred • Fundamental understanding engineering principles • Extrusion process development / Extrusion Tooling Design • Mechanical aptitude preferred • Understanding of ISO 13485:2016 preferred • CFR, FDA, OSHA, environmental regulations preferred • Proficiency at using Microsoft Office applications • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Equipment / process troubleshooting preferred • Experience with blue print reading preferred • Design of Experiments / Six Sigma preferred Physical Requirements: • May exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects Cook currently projects the base salary for this position could range from $76,000 to $89,000 and the actual pay will depend on a variety of factors including the candidate’s qualifications, education, experience and the required location for this role. In addition, this role will be eligible for an additional variable bonus opportunity based on company and/or individual performance. Principal Engineer Design Release Engineer

Work together with 3D CAD Systems Engineer and 2D Engineer to assure Design. Lead customer interface for customer change control technical issues and program engineering deliverables. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Routing Packaging Retention and Protection • Package components and wire harnesses into vehicles in the 3D environment including splice locations at the harness level (where a splice is placed on the wire harness) • Define customerdirected components • Define retention and covering components (convolute tape etc. to be used on the wire harness • Initiate NCRs (New Component Requests) and interface with Advanced Purchasing Advanced Supplier Development Provisional Component Engineering and ComBU for the development and approval of newtooled components • Initiate CPLs for any new component identified as Engineering change. Customer Change Control • Maintain customer part release system per statement of work • Communicate to customer the content and status of the design design changes and build requirements • Provide customer responses for cost studies • Update engineering issues in customer change management systems (e.g. CN EWO WERS AIMS etc. • Release nonYazaki parts (screws standard parts etc. into the customer system per statement of work Customer and Internal Design Requirements • Ensure design meets customer and internal requirements • Collaborate with Systems Engineer to review customer product letters and determine complexity levels • Collaborate with 3D CAD Designer to review 3D model and assure 2D and 3D match • Create and submit in BEAMS print markups for product designs that meet customer specifications and requirements including DFA (Design for Vehicle Assembly) • Collaborate with Product Design Engineering to communicate engineering changes and coordinate 2D print releases • Collaborate with DVP&R (Design Verification Process & Report) team to validate customer requirements • Develop and maintain programspecific harness DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) • Evaluate information provided by the customer as applied to the product/project for completeness and accuracy • Initiate customer plant trials document results of the trial and obtain customer signoff • Support assembly plant instructions for customer per statement of work • Identify new components and initiate component registration process. • Identify if design needs to be validated based on USCAR2138 or 45.
