Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to perform assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair and rebuild of electron beams in an industrial setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical processes such as high voltage, high vacuum, PLC controls, printed circuit board operation, hydraulic and pneumatic assembly. Duties • Assembles, tests and installs electron beam components such as feed thru, cathode, copper window and high vacuum system and control system components per established practices and procedures. • Performs point-to-point wiring checks, and power up of new or rebuilt electron beam processor using test equipment and written procedures. • Tests and calibrates electron beam printed circuit boards using test equipment and written procedures and guidelines. • Troubleshoots electron beam equipment by identifying the malfunction’s root cause and determining the feasibility and scope of repair based on time and budget constraints. • Repairs or replaces defective parts, reassemble, calibrate, adjust and test operation of overhauled or modified equipment. • Powers up, tests and commissions new electron beam systems in shop. Requirements • Proven experience as a Mechanical and/or Electrical Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment. • Associates in engineering or technology field preferred. • Excellent troubleshooting skills of electronic and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting or military environment. • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics to troubleshoot and repair systems. • Strong understanding of high voltage systems and their applications. • Proficiency in using voltmeters and other precision measuring instruments. • Familiarity with logic controllers is a plus. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues.
