Job Summary The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic circuity to support production schedules. Duties and Responsibilities • Assembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry, and more according to directions. • Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, and builds to those specifications. • Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned task. • Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies. • Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed. • Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor. • Maintain a safe clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned. This may include activities associated with customer contact, scheduling, engineering and construction of New Business installations, removals and relocations. (80%) • Interprets and applies engineering standards and memos. (10%) • Assists with technical consultation, plan developments and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes; (e.g. Verify and validate studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices) (5%) • Evaluates effectiveness of current design processes. Typically works under the direction of an Engineering Design Technician, Sr. Engineering Design Technician or lead engineer. • May respond to customer needs for service by evaluating standard versus required facilities in order to develop charges for customers that have financial and operational impact. • Responsible for financial requirements associated with projects that support the Asset Investment Committee (AIC) / Project Review Committee (PRC) process. • Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications • An associate's degree in a technical field and 0-3 years of relevant experience, 2-5 years of relevant education or technical experience if non-degreed or a non-technical degree, or successful completion of the company-sponsored PowerUp Academy. • Successful completion of the Technician Occupations Selection Systems (TECH) test.
