Engineering Technician A

Overview: Job Title: Engineering Technician A Job Location: Williamsport, PA Under close supervision and strictly following all electrical safety practices, performs fitting, aging and testing of tubes following established procedures. Uses necessary tools to attach temporary or permanent fittings and/or connect tubes to kits. Records test data as appropriate per procedures. Responsibilities: • Expertly follows and executes fittings and test procedures in accordance with established workmanship standards. • Perform RTV potting operations including mixing, using potting fixtures, and final trimming/inspection. Troubleshoots potting issues as needed. Maintains material inventory and performs fixture maintenance. • Accurately measures and records electrical parameters using test equipment such as voltmeters, current meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc. • Perform final fitting operations including painting, decaling, serializing, polishing, etc. in preparation for shipment. Able to rework mechanical/cosmetic issues as needed. • Perform spot welding (resistance, basic TIG and laser) and torch brazing as required for tubes in their area. • Perform grit, sand and bead blasting of assemblies per procedure and workmanship standards as required. • Leak checks/cold tests tubes as detailed in work instructions, troubleshoot. • Inspect components and assembly for quality and accuracy of prior work and finished build. • Troubleshoot and diagnose tubes and electromechanical assemblies. • Complete any necessary LN transactions. • Rework out-of-tolerance fittings assemblies as necessary. • Communicate, share and volunteer information both within and outside the department. • Assist Engineering in testing new products, developing test procedures/programs, and R&D projects as required. • Meet production schedule and yield targets consistently. • May perform Production Lead duties as assigned. • Train other testers and fitters. • Maintains work area and tools in a clean and orderly manner daily. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent plus10 years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree plus 6 years relevant experience. • Proficient in fitting and testing in at least two product groups • Understanding of basic electrical principles. • Ability to read and follow drawings, BOMS, test procedures • Demonstrated knowledge of basic math • Demonstrated ability to train and lead others • Proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) Stellant Systems is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Job Title: Test Engineering Technician Job Description The Test Engineering Technician will perform routine testing on a variety of electron devices within the product group. This role requires setting up test stations and making necessary modifications to test sets according to procedures and instructions. The technician will also recover failed products with minimal supervision or engineering direction. Test Technicians work in teams, with each manufacturing team comprising several Test Technicians, totaling 30-50 at any given time. The company manufactures microwave devices for communication and radar systems, supporting defense, space, medical, communications, and science industries. The technician will report to their specific group supervisor. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Williamsport, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $62400.00/yr.
