Mechanical Engineer, Somerset, PA Office Job Summary: The EADS Group, Inc. has an opening for a full-time, experienced Mechanical Engineer in the Architecture Department of our Somerset, PA Office. Established in 1955, we have grown into an employee-owned, multi-disciplined Engineering, Architecture and Design Services firm with over 250 employees operating out of 9 office locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. Primary Responsibilities Include: • Prepare HVAC and plumbing construction documents including site investigations, drawings, specifications, and reports for commercial, residential, municipal and institutional buildings. • Design ductwork, natural gas piping, hot/cold water, sanitary, and other HVAC & plumbing plans including associated details, diagrams, and specifications. • Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing and selections. • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, design team members and support staff. • Communicate with equipment vendors and manufacturers' representatives for selection and specification of Building Systems equipment. • Conduct job site observations, surveys and inspections as necessary. • Manage projects and conduct project meetings with clients. • Perform construction administration activities and interface with contractors, owners and vendors. • Collaborate with and mentor engineering and design technicians. Education and/or Experience: • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution. • Minimum 4 years of experience in HVAC/Mechanical building system design. • Experience with AutoCAD is required; Revit software experience is highly preferred. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects. • Ability to work with minimal supervision. License(s) and/or Certification(s): • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is preferred. • Minimum requirement of Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification with ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year. Job description: In this position, you will provide technical support for Turbocharging Service, Process Automation Turbocharging at a designated location either on company or customer premises, delivering superior, professional service, remotely or on site. You will be responsible for executing Service work according to agreed workflows and in accordance with Accelleron standard processes and safety guidelines. Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. In close cooperation with customers and other Accelleron teams, take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for Accelleron. You will be reporting to the Turbocharging Workshop Manager. Your responsibilities: • Service delivery: Performs Service tasks, identifies technical problems and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in any Service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services and replacements of a variety of turbochargers for commercial applications). • Customer Approach: Contributes to customer satisfaction by executing Service work according to customer order and expectations. Creates and maintains a good relationship with customers and understands their needs. Identifies new sales opportunities and communicates them internally. • Materials and Supply: Coordinates, prepares and ensures that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities. • Documentation and Reports: Prepares all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reports work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed. • Troubleshooting: Proactively identifies potential equipment failures and requests proactive corrective actions. Troubleshoots equipment failure and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future. • Operational Excellence: Proactively identifies suggestions for product and quality improvement and communicates them further in the Accelleron organization. Provides recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service. • Health, Safety and Integrity: Applies safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Reports unsafe practices and incidents. Senior Product Development Engineer

SUMMARY: It is important that product development engineers be familiar with, and adhere to, appropriate industry product standards and specifications so that they may design quality products that represent the company well. They must also keep trends and the needs of consumers in mind when designing products. They may conduct tests to determine whether their products meet all requirements, and then document the results. Product development engineers may also be responsible for making improvements to existing design and development standards, developing new standards, and solving problems related to their products. In this way, they may affect product cost, performance, and quality. Product development engineers must often meet with members of various departments to review prototypes or discuss required design modifications. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Lead multiple engineering projects through product lifecycle (concept to post-production) • Provide support to current product quality through investigation and development of test stands to aid in evaluation/validation • Coordinate with drawing office for project requirements • Develop 3D models and 2D print specifications as needed • Executes automotive component evaluations and first article inspections as needed • Prepares, 3D prints, and post-processes prototype/production parts as needed • Coach, teach, mentor less experienced department staff • Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience • or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree • Minimum of 4 years of experience successfully delivering products to launch • Understanding of manufacturing techniques as it relates to materials and tolerances for development • Experience in PTC Creo CAD Software • Experience with Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS • Experience in PTC Windchill PLM/PDM Software • Experience with National Instruments LabView • Experience with hydraulics, electronics, and pneumatics for the development of test stands • Experience with PLC Configurations and Ladder Logic, Automation Direct Productivity Suite • Experience with Minitab Statistical software • Experience with FEA/Simulation software such as PTC Creo Simulate, SOLIDWORKS Simulation, or ANSYS Simulation • Experience with/exposure to AIAG tools to include FMEA, MSA, SPC, APQP, and PPAP • Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) as it relates to material selection and orientation on the print bed • Less than 10% travel expected of the role PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: • Professional Licensure (PE/EIT/PMP/CAPM) • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles (DMAIC or DFSS) OTHER: • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
