Mechanical Assembler I is an entry level position. The purpose for an operator at this level is to gain a basic understanding of deburring and air grinding operations. Operators must obtain a basic level knowledge to deburr and clean parts in a manner necessary to produce precision parts with direct supervision by a more senior Mechanical Assembler with Deburring Certification (level II or above). Follows established standard work under general supervision in efforts to obtain certification. The operator will typically refer problems or deviations to more experience operators including Lead Technicians, Supervisors, or engineers. External candidates will receive a $3,000 sign on bonus. What You Will Do • Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools and operate speed lathes. • Read blueprints in order to verify work was completed properly. • Operate and do daily/weekly checks on equipment. • Accurately participate in the COPQ process, utilizes ACE portal for issues or process improvement. • Accurately complete production documentation and performs necessary labor transactions. • Operates hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment. • Works under direct supervision. Normally follows established procedures on routine work. Requires instructions on new assignments. • Applies basic job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. • Tasks are semi-routine in nature, but recognizes the need for some judgment. • Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position. • Actively participates in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activities • Over 40 hours is required as scheduled to meet business needs. • All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business. • The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 3:30pm - 12:00am .
