Facilities Engineer

Your Role in Our Mission: Facility Maintenance: • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair activities for all facilities, including mechanical (including product fixturing/jigging), electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of equipment and systems. • Develop, train, implement and manage maintenance work order program. • Coordinate with internal maintenance staff and external contractors/vendors to ensure timely and quality repairs and maintenance work. • Conduct and oversee regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding building code, equipment, tools, fire safety and emergency preparedness. • Work with EHS team to coordinate inspections, audits, and compliance with regulations. • Assure staff is up to date on required training. • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing systems to ensure compliance with recommended practices, work instructions, etc., and implement sustainable corrective actions. • Plan, coordinate and execute facility maintenance projects during plant idle time as required. (Example: paint booth cleaning) • Develop contingency action plans for critical equipment maintenance or unscheduled downtime to minimize operations disruption (Example: weld gas, air compressors, etc.) • Coordinate with EHS manager to execute required employe training or certification programs (forklift, overhead cranes, etc.) • Coordinate with EHS manager to implement corrective actions for equipment non-compliance identified during audits, inspections, etc (Ex: lifting devices, temporary CNG tanks, etc.) Utilities Management: • Monitor and manage utility usage, including electricity, water, gas, and fuel, to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. • Identify opportunities for energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact. Space Planning and Management: • Collaborate with operations and engineering leadership regarding facility layouts and space utilization to optimize workflow and operational efficiency. • Ability to plan and execute projects related to facility upgrades, renovations, or expansions. • Develop cost justifications for capital expenditures as required. Budgeting and Cost Control: • Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting, cost analysis, and expense tracking. • Implement cost-saving measures and initiatives to reduce operating expenses while maintaining high-quality facilities and services. • Use the Purchase Order process that is in place and required by Purchasing. Emergency Preparedness and Response: • Work with EHS team to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies such as fires, natural disasters, or security incidents. • Coordinate with local authorities, emergency services, and other stakeholders to facilitate emergency response efforts. Vendor Management: • Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, including negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements. • Assure vendor compliance with company safety requirements when working at any company-owned facility. Environmental compliance: • Collaborate with EHS manager to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous materials, OSHA requirements, wastewater, etc. To Perform this Job Successfully: • Ability to travel up to 50% at times. • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. or equivalent knowledge and experience. • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements. • Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of facility staff and contractors. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. • Familiarity with facility management software and computer-aided facility management (CAFM) systems. • Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) preferred. Currently we are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team. This person will be an essential part of designing systems for electrical controls for machines and equipment. This person will use their knowledge and expertise of computer-aided design as well as electricity, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Your Role in Our Mission: • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks. • Prepare technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to all standards. • Provide excellent customer service via phone or email to customers, dealers, and department personnel to assist in trouble shooting and resolution. • Utilize various state-of-the-art engineering tools. • Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for mobile equipment purposes. • Assist and train assemblers and wiring personnel in control systems. • Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or quality requirements by coordinating manufacturing, installation, support, documentation, or testing activities. • Process engineering change orders. • Harness design/drawings for both low and high voltage systems. Four 10 hour shifts with 3 days off. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all preventative maintenance of facility's heating, cooling, air conditioning, refrigeration, vehicles, life safety equipment, medical gas systems, and other related equipment. Perform necessary repairs, as able, to the facility's heating, cooling, air conditioning, refrigeration, vehicles, life safety equipment, medical gas systems, and other related equipment. Perform scheduled inspections or maintenance on all equipment, buildings, and systems assigned to the Maintenance Department and document accordingly. Keep maintenance areas in good order. Assist in maintaining supply levels. Purchase minor supplies and equipment with approval from Supervisor. Advise Supervisor or designee when outside contracting assistance is required. Complete work orders or other work as assigned and document appropriately. Contact person requesting repair, verify repair or problem, and notify person of completed work. Treat medical waste as trained. Maintain medical waste treatment and storage areas. Dispose of treated waste as per regulations. Perform snow removal and other ground duties as required. Check operation of company vehicles, procure fuel, and arrange for outside maintenance or repairs when necessary. Maintain, repair, and replace light bulbs and light fixtures as necessary. Perform minor plumbing repairs and replace and install plumbing fixtures, lavatories, and toilets as able. Analyze and correct electrical problems and repair, replace and overhaul electrical equipment and controls as able in accordance with applicable building codes and facility and regulatory safety procedures. Utilize and operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assignments/maintenance. Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, safe, and usable manner. Notify Supervisor or designee of potentially dangerous or hazardous equipment, systems, or building problems. Correct, as able, or remove the dangerous or hazardous equipment, systems, or building problems from service and placards as appropriate when repairs cannot be completed to satisfactorily remove the danger or hazard. Perform carpentry work required in the maintenance and construction of plant, office buildings, and equipment. Procure and maintain construction materials. Maintain construction areas in accordance with life safety and applicable regulations, and when complete, leave area in a safe and attractive manner. Maintain waste receptacles, trash bins, and waste receptacle areas outside the facility in a clean and sanitary manner. Store chemicals, fuels, compressed gasses and paint in a safe manner. Utilizes all safety and personal protective equipment. Assists in the training of personnel in the operation and repair of equipment. Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
