We're hiring a Mechanical Manufacturing Technician (Calibrator) for a critical entry-level role in our Carroll, IA facility. In this position, you'll gain valuable training and experience working with precision components that help power aviation technology. This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license. What You'll Be Doing • Train to set up and operate test stands to inspect nozzles, valves, and spray bars • Assist in setting up and running laser markers and printers per specs • Record and track spray parameters by serial number • Learn how to assemble and disassemble parts per product specifications • Complete production documentation and labor tracking accurately • Support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives • Contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient manufacturing environment • Willing to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays based on business needs Qualifications Required: • Willingness to work 3rd shift and nonstandard hours as required • Interest in hands-on mechanical work in a production environment • Ability to follow written procedures and standard work under supervision • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Preferred: • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, calibration, or manufacturing • Familiarity with aerospace or precision manufacturing environments Why Join PDS Tech Commercial? The Mechanical Manufacturing Technician will learn to prepare and assemble components for final or sub-assemblies under direct supervision by a certified calibrator. The operator will be responsible for setting up and operating production equipment to ensure flow, spray angle, and quality meet product specifications and tolerance levels. Operators are expected to follow standard work procedures under general supervision to obtain certification and will refer any problems or deviations to more experienced personnel, including Lead Technicians, Supervisors, or Engineers.
