Mechanical Design Engineer

How You’ll Make an Impact • Design and develop 1PH and 3PH pad-mounted distribution transformers using 2D and 3D CAD tools. • Create and modify drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to meet customer and manufacturing requirements. • Participate in design and customer specification reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards. • Support cross-functional teams with timely mechanical engineering expertise. • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives. • Collaborate with vendors on part development and qualification. • Prepare technical documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders. • Consult with other engineering teams to ensure optimal design integration • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your Background • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical design. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo, or similar 3D modeling software. • Familiarity with industrial and engineering standards. • Experience designing custom mechanical products. • Knowledge of IEEE and CSA standards is a plus. You must be capable of simultaneously managing projects that vary in scope, urgency, and public profile. • Project work is done at all stages and phases of a project’s life, from the initial proposal through the final construction close-out. Involvement can include feasibility & suitability studies, conceptual development, obtaining environmental permits and clearances, project design, cost estimation, construction document development, oversight of budgets and completion schedules, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. • Developing and managing projects includes cost estimating, budget development, and monitoring expenditures over the life of a project. • Project management can include coordinating construction operations with allied professionals, monitoring project progress through on-site meetings and communications with in-house construction crews, producing change orders, scrutinizing budget adjustments, approving construction quality, as well as, managing contracted design and construction projects. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri. We are guided and united by our Group Purpose of “giving our world more smiles.” Visit: Job Description Duties and responsibilities • Use MRI installation/architectural drawings, field measurements and technical documentation to conduct or coordinate the successful mechanical installation of MRI systems. • Provide on-site presence for system deliveries to coordinate rigging activities. • Perform system inventory, cabling, cryogen filling, plumbing, initial electronics startup, ramp to full magnetic field and magnetic field shim. • Perform system tuning and QA acceptance testing, utilizing experience and knowledge base in electronics and MRI operations. • Work in cooperation with other contractors and construction activities being completed at the job site. • Coordinate and maintain movement and inventory of test gear, tools and installation equipment. • Accurately complete and submit all documentation required for installation and maintenance of all systems. • Document and report all installation issues or delays. • Performs other work as directed by the Manager, High Field Operations. • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Qualifications Experience: • Minimum five (5) years previous service-related experience. • Demonstrated ability at operating installation tools and test equipment. • Extensive knowledge and experience in electronics functionality, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. • Advanced knowledge and experience in design, installation, service, and supervision or maintenance of complex mechanical/electrical equipment. • Ability to read and understand installation/architectural drawings, field measurements and technical documentation. Educational requirements: • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
