We are seeking an experienced and driven Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems for a variety of construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality, code-compliant, and energy-efficient systems are delivered on time and within budget. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead mechanical design including HVAC and plumbing from schematic design through construction administration. • Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into the building design. • Conduct load calculations and energy efficiency assessments to optimize system performance and to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation. • Review and analyze project requirements, proposals, and technical reports. • Oversee installation and commissioning of mechanical systems on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards. • Stay current with industry trends, technology, and regulations to ensure innovative and sustainable design solutions. • Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis. • PE registration in South Dakota or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design within the construction industry. • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit. • Experience with HVAC load design software. • Knowledge of building, energy, mechanical, and plumbing codes. • Excellent problem solving and communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and use time productively to maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals. • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and values. • Ability to demand the highest standard of ethical conduct from self and others. • Ability to travel as needed for projects. #hc145863
