About This Job We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks. Your duties will include: • Ensuring a safe working environment by utilizing all required safety equipment • Performing thorough inspections on trucks according to established procedures to identify any necessary safety or service work • Staying up-to-date with new products and improvements by reading Service Bulletins • Accurately diagnosing causes of malfunctions and customer complaints, and advising the Service Manager of any additional repairs and costs • Completing work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, meeting time guide requirements when prescribed • Communicating effectively with the parts department to obtain needed parts • Detailed documentation of work performed on labor tickets in a legible manner • Timely punching of labor tickets on time clocks at the beginning and end of each work session • Road-testing vehicles when necessary • Providing guidance and supervision to junior technicians assigned to you
