Design Engineer

Description: Department: Engineering Summary: Demco is hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer! Successful candidates must have experience in FEA, along with history working with casted products. This position is located at our Spencer, IA facility, working on parts manufactured at our Boyden location. Some travel between locations (less than an hour) may be required periodically. Primary Duties: • Make drawings, check material dimensions and relationship to other parts and to the entire structure or project on the drawing • Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards • Verify dimensional accuracy of structural layouts and installations • Work with manufacturing, vendors and engineering to ensure documentation meets specifications • Must work with sales team and customers on design and applications • Construct drawings from concepts or sketches • Review and critique proposed engineering standards, policies, or details • Prepare charts for representation of statistical data • Provide technical advice to manufacturing, sales and customers to assist in resolving problems. • Must be able to effectively present information to clients, customers and employees • Work with and support ISO 9000 work instructions and procedures • Maintain accurate records and files Position descriptions are intended to define in general terms the most significant duties of a particular position and are not all inclusive of all duties or responsibilities of individual positions.
