These projects typically range in value from $1 million to $40 million and may involve the refurbishment of existing equipment or the installation of new systems. All projects are to be developed and executed in alignment with Hydro's Capital Value Process. Required Education/Experience • Associate's degree in mechanical engineering, and or equivalent work experience is preferred. • 5 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment and with capital project life cycle. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience in combustion systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics (preferred). • Hands-on experience with CNC fixturing, operation, and implementation (preferred). • Prior experience in aluminum extrusion and/or fabrication operations is highly desirable. • Proven track record in the installation and commissioning of mill-grade industrial equipment. • Experience in designing custom equipment to meet specific manufacturing requirements. • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for project planning and scheduling. • Proficient in managing and editing technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, with practical experience in waste reduction and process improvement initiatives. Job Responsibilities: • Lead the safe, timely, and cost-effective development and execution of capital projects. • Perform mechanical engineering and design activities from concept development through project handover, in alignment with the established PESHA process. • Execute a range of engineering tasks, including analytical problem-solving, design calculations, technical evaluations of supplier and contractor proposals, equipment and contractor selection, and drawing creation and management. • Actively participate in cross-functional teams to drive alignment and achieve shared project goals. • Travel to domestic and international vendor and supplier sites as required to support project execution (up to 90%). • Identify and implement changes, enhancements, and modifications to improve manufacturing value and efficiency. • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, including accessing equipment via ladders or elevated platforms to assess progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. • Design and draft mechanical systems related to aluminum manufacturing equipment, with a focus on CNC/fabrication, extrusion, and heavy mill machinery. • Develop specifications and detailed documentation for machine subassemblies, or be responsible for detail design of, such as robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and machining fixtures. See More Details >>Summary/Objective: The Heli-coil position is part of the finishing team and will install Heli-coils into customer product using electric and manual tooling. This individual will install different types and sizes of threaded inserts and a limited number of dowel pins into various components and must have the ability to follow work instructions, understand basic prints, and use measuring devices. Duties and Responsibilities: • Must have a high level of detail, able to measure and visually identify nonconforming conditions and be able to document these instances. • Efficiently perform heli-coil operations per work instructions on all customer products. • Assists in meeting aggressive work center and company goals by recommending and executing continuous improvement and performing direction given by the area lead and finishing personnel. • Accepts change and engages in process improvements by suggesting and implementing ideas in collaboration with the area lead and finishing personnel. • Assists in keeping on time delivery by using the automated scheduling system in place and by taking priority direction from area leads. • The ability to use small hand tools. • Other duties as assigned Skills and Specifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Must possess basic computer skills • Reading, writing, problem solving, and mechanical skills with hand/eye coordination • The ability to teach and train others as needed • Individual must be able to work with little to no supervision after initial training period, showing a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and excellent work ethic.
