We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer who loves problem solving. This position is responsible for research, planning, design and construction of manufacturing equipment along with developing new processes and improving the processes of current manufacturing operations. Duties and Responsibilities · Research, planning, design and construction of manufacturing equipment · Developing process improvements · Initial design and production process creation for new products for sale · Approve products for customer applications (product development requests) · Assist accounting when developing cost models for new processes and/or improvements · Develop test criteria for acceptance of new equipment · Support production processes · Researching, approving, qualifying new production equipment purchased from outside vendors · Up to 10% Travel to support sales or customer testing · Other duties as assigned Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering • One to three years of design experience • 3D CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor) • Experience with statistical process tools • Strong computer skills • Ability to work independently as well as on a team • Works in an office and production environment • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs • Valid Real ID license Benefits Bedford Industries offers its employees a competitive total rewards package both professionally and personally. Senior Engineering Technician

This position is responsible for assisting the engineering department with: • Troubleshooting production equipment and processes • Collecting and analyzing production/test data • Developing solutions for production/process equipment issues through maintenance requests and capital asset projects • 3D CAD modelling and new equipment design • Creation of technical drawings • Sourcing/integration/installation of purchased/designed equipment • Testing of new materials for various Bedford product lines • Working with production, maintenance, machine shop, and outside vendors to improve product quality Duties and Responsibilities • Troubleshooting production issues and processes o Evaluate issues with work orders and gather pertinent data o Work with engineering and production personnel to resolve issues • Formulation of test plans and data needed to make informed recommendations o Gather data and perform statistical analysis o Report on findings • Setup/Run new materials, processes and/or designs o Use systematic methodologies to maintain records of testing conditions and results o Complete charts, measure, and enter data into computer systems • Maintain machine manuals and instructions for the small machine division • Periodic follow-ups with production for new products/equipment introduced o Assist in procedure creation for new equipment releases o Performs production audits of new products at set intervals to ensure correct costing and performance to standard • Ensure purchased and designed equipment is within operational specification • Assist maintenance and machine shop as needed with design of new parts • Completion and implementation of maintenance requests • Work with other departments in machine design and process development for machines and products • Assist sales by providing product recommendations tailored to customer inquiries • Some Travel Expected, up to 10% of the time • Other duties as assigned Requirements • 2 Year Degree in an Engineering related field such as Associates of Drafting, Associates of Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Associates of Mechatronics • 7+ years of related experience • Ability to read and write in English • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office • General math skills and ability to gather data • Ability to problem solve • Ability to work independently and on a team • Desire and willingness to attend outside educational classes • CAD experience and knowledge of GD&T • Valid Real ID driver’s license • Works in an office and production environment • Must have fine motor skills with ability to use hands, fingers, and arms with upper and lower mobility • Frequently stand, stoop, lift, reach above shoulders, and bend • Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs Benefits Bedford Industries offers its employees a competitive total rewards package both professionally and personally.
