Job Description We are seeking a motivated Engineering Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis with flexible hours. The primary responsibility will be setting up our new shop to optimize workflow and equipment functionality. Primary Responsibilities Shop Setup: Organize and set up a 30 x 60 ft workshop, including configuring equipment (lathe, CNC mill, water jet, welding stations, 3D printers), optimizing workspace layout, and ensuring safety and efficiency. Maintain and organize tools, materials, and inventory to support fabrication processes. Assist in implementing shop maintenance protocols. Secondary Responsibilities Support product design and prototyping using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and fabrication tools. Collaborate on design projects, including brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping. Assist with testing and refining prototypes based on project requirements. Qualifications Preferred: Engineering degree or coursework (mechanical, industrial, or related field) is a plus but not required. Hands-on experience with shop equipment (e.g., lathe, CNC mill, water jet, welding, 3D printing) or willingness to learn. Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks) is advantageous but not mandatory.
