Minimum Requirements: • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on diesel construction equipment and trucks with little supervision. • Able to perform strenuous manual labor activities for the workday. • Hearing and speaking sufficient to answer the phone and communicate with employees and others. • Vision for reading and writing, to see clearly at all distances on construction sites, and at night. • Able to walk and climb around job sites and in and out of equipment where ground conditions and elevations are variable. • Able to kneel, crouch, bend. • Able to work in extreme weather, hot and cold. • Physical strength to carry and lift 60 pounds. • Valid Driver's License with driver's abstract that meets our qualifications. MVRs will be used to verify driver history. • Must have some of your own tools. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: • Perform all duties safely. • Safely operate equipment and tools around coworkers, other working equipment, materials, open trenches, and other potential job site hazards. Ability to safely operate equipment to avoid damaging facilities or harming people surrounding the job site. • Working knowledge of mechanical components in heavy equipment. • Apply professional trouble shooting techniques to repair equipment in the shop or in the field. • Maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repairs of all equipment. • Maintain accurate inventory of all repair parts. • Order parts and equipment as needed. • Maintain open communication with management team to inform them of all equipment issues and make recommendations for repairs. • Maintain shop manuals, catalogs, etc. • Safely operate tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists. • Ability to safely and correctly load, rig, and hoist material(s). • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Notify supervisor or safety director of any potential issues. • May assist with training or supervising others. • Excellent attendance and timeliness. • Other duties as assigned. Skills: • Accurate and proficient communication and teamwork with peers, operators, mechanics, and supervisors. • Welding and fabricating skills preferred. • Class A CDL preferred. • Excellent safety and reliability record. • Accurate recordkeeping. • Customer/Client focus reliance on integrity and honesty. Work Hours: • Regular hours are typically day shift hours; Monday through Friday, up to 60 hours per week, depending on season. • Overtime may be required during the busy season. • Occasional Saturday and/or Sunday work, as assigned. • Occasional out of town work required.
