Third Shift Maintenance Engineer

We are currently representing a well-known manufacturing company in Scottsboro, seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a direct hire basis, to fulfill their 3rd shift of a 9:30AM CST to 6:00AM CST Monday-Friday schedule with some mandatory overtime, as needed. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will support continuous production of air and industrial refrigeration units by following established safety procedures and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities • Always prioritize safety in all work activities • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace • Perform routine maintenance to support production operations • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems • Maintain and repair the physical building and grounds as needed Required Qualifications And Skills • Education: High school diploma or GED required • Certifications: Must pass the Northeast Alabama Community College journeyman test • Mechanical Aptitude: • Strong understanding of mechanical systems (conveyors, hoists, chains, belts, sprockets) • Experience using standard hand and power tools • Ability to operate maintenance equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders • Electrical Knowledge: • Familiarity with control components; motors, relays, disconnects, breakers, PLCs, etc. • Pneumatics & Hydraulics: • Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems (valves, cylinders, air tools) • Understanding of hydraulic components (pumps, cylinders, hoses, accumulators) • Reading & Math Skills: • Able to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings • Capable of performing basic math calculations • Decision-Making: • Sound judgment in planning and executing maintenance tasks Work Environment: • Factory setting with regular exposure to loud noise • Frequent walking, standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and manual handling • PPE required at all times: safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes Certifications & Safety Compliance • Must maintain Lockout/Tagout and forklift safety certifications • Understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), FOD (Foreign Object Damage), and quality systems required #MFG 123 Seniority level • Seniority level Associate Employment type • Employment type Full-time Job function • Job function Management and Manufacturing • Industries Accounting and Financial Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Execu Source by 2x Get notified about new Maintenance Engineer jobs in Scottsboro, AL. Job Description This position will serve our HTPG Division, located in Scottsboro, Alabama. This position is an on-site position and you will perform this job entirely at our Scottsboro office. Responsibilities • Assist Industrial Engineers with department functions such as the following: • Conducting time observations • Conducting methods studies • Planning work/process flows • Conducting workcenter capacity analyses • Implementing process improvements • Conducting product flow analyses • Creating and maintaining product routings • Creating and maintaining labor standards • Compiling, distributing, and maintaining metrics reports for the Montgomery manufacturing facilities • Other duties include the following: • Designing and implementing ergonomic solutions • Creating, implementing, and maintaining documents for usage in the workplace such as work instructions and preventive maintenance guidelines • Creating and/or implementing process improvement solutions • Participating in the plant 6-S programs and activities • Designing and/or implementing work holding devices, work center modifications, and materials handling solutions. • Other specific duties may be assigned pending arising needs and the capabilities of the Co-Op engineer.
