Mechanic 1st Class, Cedartown, GA Arclin is currently looking for a Mechanic 1st Class for our Cedartown, GA location. Reporting into the Plant Engineering Manager this role is responsible for maintenance of plant equipment in a safe sound manner. Mechanic 1st Class Responsibilities: • Responsible for maintaining equipment in accordance with PSM (Process Safety Management) standards. • Accountable for driving continuous improvements in maintenance processes. • Responsible for conducting preventive inspections on equipment. • Ensure adherence to the department's safety program. • Ensure that jobs are completed in an environmentally sound manner. • Maintain plant equipment to ensure optimal performance. • Oversee the completion of QIP (Quality Improvement Plan) objectives. Job Description for Maintenance and Repair Mechanic at Oldcastle APG Job Summary Serve as a Maintenance and Repair Mechanic responsible for preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of manufacturing equipment. Provide maintenance support for facilities and structures on company property. This role is based in our new flagship plant in Cedartown, GA, offering an opportunity to join the core team for a high-profile location and represent our company to executive-level customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment, electrical components, and special purpose machines as assigned. • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, determining how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs. • Operate hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned. • Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions following checklists. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of machines. • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. • Think independently while functioning in a team environment, with a proven track record of contributing toward team goals. Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of maintenance/electrician experience, with at least 2 years working in a manufacturing environment. • Prior experience with PLCs and ability to read schematics. • Experience working with diesel engines. • A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • A working knowledge of basic safety programs, particularly lock-out/tag-out procedures, as well as principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanics.
