Machine Mechanic

Perform mechanical repairs/maintenance of a variety of machinery. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Perform mechanical repairs/maintenance of a variety of machinery. • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. • Troubleshoot mechanical problems as reported by operators. • Check and verify correct job on machine. • Using job order, prepare and set up for next job. • Replace broken or worn components in machines. • Change hole punch bags at end of each shift. • As directed, assist with disassemble of machinery, changing parts, reassemble, etc. • Inspect machines to ensure correct parts and guards are in place. • Assist in giving breaks for Operators. • Check inker and roll, change as needed. • Cut down misprint rolls as needed. • Responsible for filling out necessary paperwork. • Train others as needed. • Maintain compliance in the Converting Department in regards to OSHA regulations, Food Safety, Quality and Plant regulations. • Will perform the above duties and any other duties assigned by Management. Maintenance Mechanical Technician Job Purpose: Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Maintenance Mechanical Technician Job Duties: Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on CNC machines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Specific knowledge and experience with PLC's, Ladder Logic, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical distribution, piping and welding is required. Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, equipment installation, and repair and troubleshooting of large automated systems. Position requires incumbents to spend significant time on their feet and walking (10 or more hours per day) Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted Ability to work from elevated heights Ability to work in confined space areas Occasional bending, twisting, squatting and stooping to troubleshoot and repair equipment Must be available to work multiple shifts.
