Position: Mechanical Superintendent Classification: Full-time, salaried exempt (Professional Exemption) Mechanical Superintendent for Renewable Energy Projects Are you an experienced professional motivated by the positive impact of renewable energy on our economy and environment? The Mechanical Superintendent oversees construction management, crew supervision, and planning to ensure efficiency and readiness. This role provides on-site leadership for mechanical and underground installation activities on commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects. About the Company Established in 2014, Gridworks is a leading EPC contractor for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. Primarily operating across the southwest, we are expanding into other regions. With nearly 2 GW of solar and battery energy storage projects we are well positioned for continued success in the rapidly growing clean energy sector. Key Responsibilities: General: • Understand contracts, scope, manuals, and drawings; address questions proactively. • Collaborate with the Construction Manager to plan manpower, tools, equipment, and materials. • Regularly review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs). Subcontract Management: • Foster teamwork with subcontractors and ensure clarity on scope and responsibilities. • Monitor subcontractor activities for schedule adherence and quality. • Address safety and quality issues promptly, coordinating solutions with site management. • Track and report subcontractor progress and ensure material readiness. Piles: • Prepare equipment, tools, and crews for pile installation, ensuring compliance with standards. • Coordinate with survey teams to prevent utility strikes and verify accuracy. • Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure proper installation completion. Racking: • Train crews on installation and ensure adherence to project-specific requirements. • Develop and use tools like cheat sheets and jigs to enhance accuracy. • Plan logistics for materials staging and hold teams accountable for quality and housekeeping. Modules: • Train crews and establish systems to track and report damaged modules. • Optimize logistics to reduce handling and streamline installation. • Implement trash and pallet disposal plans and ensure site cleanliness. Position Requirements: • Solar PV construction experience with field management or foreman background. • Strong leadership skills to adapt quickly to schedule and scope changes. • Proficiency in MS Office; ability to work long hours and travel as needed. • Clean driving record. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Provide coaching, counseling, and discipline while enforcing policies and procedures. Work Environment: • Field-based role with exposure to outdoor and construction conditions, including noise, heights, and extreme temperatures. Position Type & Hours: • Full-time, often requiring weekends or extended hours as needed. Travel: • Requires travel to various locations within and outside New Mexico. About New Mexico Military Institute: The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, co-educational institution offering college preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited, preparing students for higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8. The IPA delivers a distinctive curriculum emphasizing immersive, intensive, hands-on learning in a structured environment. Position Under direct supervision, the Skilled Trades Technician - Mechanical Services evaluates, repairs, and maintains the New Mexico Military Institute’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This is a non-exempt, 12-months, full-time position with a pay rate of $19.31 per hour, that does not normally exceed 40 hours a week. This amounts roughly to $40,163.00 annually. Tasks: · Evaluate, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. · Receive and respond to Work Orders for mechanical or maintenance issues on campus. · Troubleshoot machinery and perform routine preventative maintenance. · Create work orders for observed deficiencies utilizing CMMS. · Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals. · Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery. · Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills: · Must possess knowledge of preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and predictive maintenance methods and programs. · Must know about mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and equipment. · Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, on ladders, aerial lifts, and rooftops. · Must know about treating and testing water cooling towers and heat and chill water systems. · Must be a team player willing to work with other personnel as needed to complete tasks. Qualifications: Required: · High school diploma, or equivalent. · Possess a valid state driver’s license. · Three years of building maintenance experience. Preferred: · Bachelor’s degree. · Bilingual.
