Maintenance Technicians- Electrical and Mechanical

Experienced Mechanical and Electrical Openings! We are currently seeking skilled Maintenance professionals to join our team located in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The Roanoke Rapids Maintenance team is responsible for maintenance and repair of paper board manufacturing equipment. Pay Range for Maintenance Technicians: $30.28 - $40.35 per hour, based on education and experience. How you will impact WestRock: • Working with skilled mentors to perform electrical or mechanical maintenance • At the completion of training, you will be expected to do the following: • Support continuous improvement of preventive maintenance • Engage in preventive and predictive maintenance activities throughout the facility. • Participate in trouble-shooting efforts to respond to equipment failures and/or process deficiencies • Participate in root cause analysis and execution of corrective actions to minimize recurrence of unplanned shutdowns • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains Distributive Control System (DCS) and Programmed Logic Control (PLC) systems, which includes higher levels of automation, improved methods of control, and improved information gathering and reporting • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to troubleshoot and maintain process control systems • Completes necessary documentation to ensure control documentation is current, follows all necessary change control procedures, and updates (marks up) drawings to reflect process improvements and field changes • Initiates and completes work-orders and requisitions, and documents all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basis • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures • Mechanic duties include, but are not restricted to, replacing valves & gaskets, basic welding, repacking pumps & valves, forklift operations, screwed pipe & tubing installations, cylinder repair, pump repair & replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair and replacements, motor replacements, and repair of mechanical drive systems. What you need to succeed: • At least 18 years of age • High School Diploma or GED Required • Two-year associate degree in a related field OR a registered apprenticeship OR similar formal training • Three or more years of experience in Heavy Industrial Maintenance • Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience required • Knowledge of mechanical drives, pumps, seals, lubrication and hydraulics • Piping layout and installation experience • Welding experience: stick, mig, tig, certified • Machine shop skills ex. Lathes, boring, balancing, CNC, etc. • Capable of meeting physical requirements to include working weekends/holidays, around heat, noise, work inside/outside, etc. Readiness to fill the shift maintenance position once qualified.
