Entry Level Mechanical Engineer – Automotive Parts Manufacturer (34995)

An international automotive parts manufacturing company is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their facility near Goldsboro, NC. A successful candidate has internship experience in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities of Mechanical Engineer · Perform evaluation on the production lines and implement solution to minimize the downtime · Participate in tool and die maintenance team and support any production issues · Perform testing on products for product development and system improvement · Analyze data from test results, provide suggestions, and implement solutions for improvements · Provide training for tool and die section · Work closely with sales team to understand customer needs, satisfactions, and complains in order to apply to product design · Provide technical support for customers or internal employees if necessary · Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications of Mechanical Engineer · Internship experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering field · Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent experience or equivalent experience · Strong leadership skills in team environment and skills to bring positive atmosphere to the team · Ability to be flexible to work effectively with wide variety of people and to work responsibly and effectively in a multicultural environment · Excellent communication (Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening) and presentation skills · Ability to multi-task and perform duties time efficiently · Team-worker, Detail-oriented, Responsible, Punctual, Self-motivated · Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel · While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. Mechanical Engineer

JOB SUMMARY The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for maintaining effective mechanical design bases for transformer layouts and for providing technical expertise to customers both within and outside of the organization. This role will review projects assigned to them comparing customer specifications to other design data, noting any inconsistencies or special requirements. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Systematically reviews the mechanical design rules of all products to ensure that customer needs are being met while maintaining organizational cost and reliability goals. The process involves properly defining customer requirements, performing detailed analysis of loads and stresses, materials, and manufacturing processes, to determine conformity to organizational cost, quality, and reliability goals. • Recommends, plans, and executes approved projects that improve product competitiveness. Projects are cross-functional and involve working closely with manufacturing, purchasing and other functions. • Identifies, plans, and executes approved projects to provide new product designs and extensions of current products. Projects are inter-department team efforts. • Develops and recommends solutions to complex and unusual order related requirements in order to manage risk. • Documents the rational for mechanical designs and provides rules for executing specific product designs. • Provides technical expertise and training to others in the areas of mechanical design, stress analysis, and manufacturing processes. • Understands and correctly interprets the product scope, quality standards and industry standards to ensure the proper design and application of transformer and substation products. • Supports Marketing in preparation of bids through interpretation of product scope and innovative application of transformer and substation products to meet unique customer needs. • May act as project leader on assigned projects. • Consults with Marketing and customers to find areas of product expansion and refinement. • Resolves specific production and customer problems by working with engineering, manufacturing quality assurance, field service and purchasing personnel and vendors. Mechanical Designer

JOB SUMMARY The Mechanical Designer is responsible for maintaining effective mechanical design bases for transformer layouts and for providing technical expertise to customers both within and outside of the organization. The Mechanical Designer will be expected to utilize any and all operating programs to function effectively. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Complete transformer mechanical design including internal and external layout of components and accessories based on documentation provided in project design folder, standard practices, and/or from technical advisors. • Calculate dimensions, allowances, and specifications per standard procedures or general design knowledge of shop capabilities when standard procedures do not exist. Verify and update programs. • Provide technical support and training of others. • Assist the supervisor in the planning and scheduling of the design and detailing processes. • Responsible for directing or executing corrective action when shop problems are encountered. Consult with shop and QA personnel on interferences or interpretation of engineering information. • Assist on development projects as requested by supervisor. This may also include completion of standard processes or practices and computer programs. • Recommend and develop new procedures to improve the efficiency of the design and/or detailing process. • Provide support to Quote Designers, such as bid or preliminary outlines and mechanical optimization.
