Mechanical Designer

JOB SUMMARY The Mechanical Detailer is responsible for completing detail drawing for designs of varying complexity; this may also include checking others work. They will work closely with the Mechanical Designer and other engineering support personnel to ensure that our due dates are met. They will be expected to meet with employees from various other departments to review designs to ensure that all of the necessary information is provided to build the product as designed. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Complete mechanical detailing of transformers including internal and external components and accessories based on documentation provided in project design folder, standard practices, and/or from technical advisors. • Provide technical support and training of others. • Assist the supervisor as need to ensure that detailing is complete by the due dates. • Responsible for directing or executing corrective action when shop problems are encountered. Consult with shop and QA personnel on interferences or interpretation of engineering information. • Assist on development projects as requested by supervisor. This may also include completion of standard processes or practices. • Recommend and develop new procedures to improve the efficiency of the detailing process. Mechanical Design Engineer

This position is NOT available for remote work. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Summary of Position: The mechanical design engineer is responsible for interpreting customer, regulatory and internal process requirements and giving life to the mechanical and electro-mechanical design at US Cargo Systems. The mechanical design engineer will be the heart of an integrated product team tasked with generating new business on behalf of the organization. The mechanical design engineer is expected to provide the necessary leadership to the integrated product team members. JOB SUMMARY The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for maintaining effective mechanical design bases for transformer layouts and for providing technical expertise to customers both within and outside of the organization.
