Position Summary HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (ME) to provide engineering support for the Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment - Combat Systems (STAVE-CS) Part Task Trainers under the Shore-Based Training, Engineering, and Development Support (SBEDS) contract for the U.S. Navy team at Dam Neck, VA. This position requires an engineer to provide comprehensive hardware systems engineering support for the evolution and integration of training systems. This encompasses the design, integration, implementation, and maintenance of training, engineering, and developmental test equipment suites for the U.S. Navy. What you will do • Provide hardware systems engineering support of training system evolution and integration. • Locate, understand, and interpret data sheets to include 3D models as part of subassemblies • Use Autodesk Inventor to create models and presentations for enhanced viewing of assembly drawings • Provide support to both team members and users on cable fabrication, hardware installation and relocation, and hardware preventative/corrective measures, including fault isolation and repairs. • Provide planning, design, and acquisition recommendations, along with implementation and integration of system hardware components. • Participate in functional audits and physical configuration audits of multiple platforms to ensure accuracy of installed software and hardware. • Provide reviews and research on run sheets, wiring diagrams, and drawings to build, wire and interconnects for components at a detailed level. What we are looking for: Minimum Qualifications • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field. • Prior experience in hardware systems engineering, encompassing design, testing, and delivery of training systems for the U.S. Military. • Strong knowledge of Autodesk Inventor to create material models including 3D part models. • Knowledge in interpreting data sheets. • Knowledgeable in various metalwork types, encompassing hardware and fasteners. • Understanding of PEM products and use for insertion/mounting of items to metalworks. • Prior experience in hardware repair and troubleshooting, encompassing cable fabrication, hardware installation, as well as preventative and corrective maintenance, and hardware repairs. • Have excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills are esstential for this role. • US Secret Security Clearance Preferred Requirements • Previous U.S. Navy STAVE-CS Part Task Trainer experience. • Knowledgeable in Solid Edge and SolidWorks drawings. • Proficiency in interpreting schematics within Technical Data Packages (TDPs). • Strong knowledge/experience supporting functional configuration audits and physical configuration audits on US Navy platforms Physical Requirements • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. POSITION SUMMARY Participate in the mechanical design, development, prototyping, and manufacturing support of lithium-ion batteries, chargers, energy storage systems, and production solutions. JOB FUNCTIONS • Design and draft parts, prints, and assemblies using Solid Works. • Design for Injection molding (plastics), sheet metal fabrication (stamping, bending, welding, and cutting), CNC machining, and 3D printing • Prepare drawings from concept to support all phases of the product development lifecycle, including prototyping, design iteration, and mass production. • Contribute to a multi-disciplinary product development team. • Lead and/or participate in the validation of internal and outsourced components and assemblies. • Provide technical expertise and consulting to customers and suppliers. • Provides technical guidance to members of the industrial engineering teams and management. • Participates in the design reviews of mechanical concepts, drawings, and designs of team members. • Collaborate with Project Leads, Purchasing, Production, and Quality departments during all stages of project development. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation as needed. • Prepare and maintain production documentation for parts and assemblies, such as bills of material (BOM). • Collaborate with the Quality department in the development of project functional specifications, such as DFMEA, FMEA, and design qualification documents (PPAP, etc.). • Provides technical guidance to members of the various engineering teams and management. • Occasional travel required (both domestic and international). MINIMUM ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • BSME with significant experience (DENG or MS favored). • 5+ years of related experience in electronics packaging and manufacturing. • 8+ years of experience with CAD design in SolidWorks • Must be fluent in English and able to communicate with others effectively. • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
