Overview: We are currently hiring for a Mechanical Product Engineer for our client in Chesapeake, VA. This role will involve some traveling to customer sites for assessments of machinery and equipment. Description: • To design application drawings for products of company with the use of CAD (2D and 3D) systems. • Generating production drawings for the in-house shop and subcontracted shops. • Manage mechanical portion of the project from start to finish. • Create, control and maintain the order release packages and design files. • Travel to perform presentations, audits, measure ups and start up support at mill site as necessary (up to 25-40% of time). • Create and foster customer relations in terms of obtaining the required information thru on-site measure ups; MS team calls, drawing exchange, etc.. • Capable to execute technical calculations to ensure the safety and integrity of mechanical custom components. • Preparation of technical documentation and procedures. • Product inspections and dimensional checks. • Creation of communication documentation, presentations, video calls, etc. to help convey the key aspects of a design to a client or manufacturing partner. • International collaboration through Engineering teams in Canada (1 facility) and Austria (3 facilities). • Participation in development projects and prototype design. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology. • 2 years practical experience. • Proficient in 2D and 3D. • AutoCAD and Inventor preferred. • Proficient in word processing and spread sheets.
