Junior Mechanical Engineer (REMOTE - Raleigh-Durham)

The Work: As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as an engineering consultant and technical expert on mission-critical infrastructure, systems, and equipment. You will apply professional knowledge of scientific and engineering concepts, principles, phenomena and relationships to assess specific requirements, delineate appropriately engineered designs, and develop preliminary and final design plans, engineering specifications, cost estimates and procurement packages in support of the operation, preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical. electrical, plumbing, utility and mission critical systems and equipment. This position is REMOTE but requires occasional local travel in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. Only candidates in the area will be considered. Key Responsibilities: • Specify functional requirements. • Design and test components. • Analyze designs. • Integrate components. • Evaluate overall design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. • Design, analyze, configure, test, and troubleshoot systems. • Provide project engineering/program management support. • Offer development and evaluation support. • Deliver engineering/life cycle support of a complex nature in a narrow area of specification. • Conduct surveys and investigations at project sites to secure necessary data prior to initiating design work. • Exhibit creativity, motivation, persistence and versatility. • Disseminate information both in writing and verbally, explaining complex technical information clearly to engineers, contractors, and facility/owner staff across all communication platforms. • Work both independently as well as part of a team. • Maintain the highest professional standards. • Manage multiple tasks and priorities. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Minimum Qualifications: • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or directly related field. • This is an entry-level role; it requires 0-2 years of experience. Some experience or related internships preferred. • Must be proficient with the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Must have proficiency with MS Project, Visio, CAD, BIM, Energy Management or Modeling. Citizenship/Clearance Requirements: • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain up to a Top Secret clearance due to our customer requirements and the nature of the work that we do. Preferred Qualifications: • An Active Secret or higher Security Clearance. Physical Considerations: • Must be able to walk construction sites with uneven surfaces, carry up to 25 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, and work both indoors and outdoors in severe weather conditions, in confined spaces, and in dust generating environments. • Must be able to maintain spatial awareness and comply with safety standards while working near mechanical and electrical building equipment and systems. • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required. The primary role of the incumbent is to ensure the proper operation, maintenance and installation of distribution line capacitor banks, single and three phase electronically controlled reclosers and switchgear, low and medium voltage sensors, Distributed Generation Sites (also known as Independent Power Producers such as solar farms, etc.), regulators and all control and communication interfaces associated with this equipment. This position requires professional interaction with both internal and external customers to accomplish objectives, and the ability to coordinate activities with line crews and other work groups. The incumbent will be knowledgeable of and responsible for the maintenance of distribution line equipment, controls, and technologies to ensure system operating efficiency, reliability, and power quality which would include performing tasks in and around energized primary conductors at distribution primary voltage top of pole (TOP) work. Work to be performed requires a working knowledge of distribution automated controls, applications, and practices (diagnostics, feeder automation, etc.), and a working knowledge of applicable 2-way telecommunications equipment. The incumbent works with complex equipment to perform installation, preventative and corrective maintenance; provides technical support for project design and implementation; and performs troubleshooting activities. The incumbent works with complex diagnostic and support equipment and must possess the aptitude to quickly adapt to emerging technologies in the distribution line equipment & controls area. The incumbent performs work on (overhead and underground) single and three phase installations involving primary and secondary voltage levels. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and correct reported problems of Distribution SCADA (supervisory control automated data acquisition) controlled equipment including • Distribution line capacitor banks • Single and Three phase reclosers (including TOP work) • Equipment Controls • Medium and low voltage sensors • IPPs • Regulators All control and communication interfaces associated with the above Perform or assist with the commissioning and decommissioning work of new installations of a variety of equipment distribution SCADA equipment (equipment detailed above). Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of SCADA equipment (equipment detailed above). Perform and/or participate in special projects and/or assignments including but not limited to I&C related callouts (24/7 availability), storm support, study teams, power quality monitoring, new product/ equipment evaluation, cross functional specialty tasks, site surveys, etc. as requested. Maintain a general knowledge of distribution construction specifications. Maintain proficiency with and perform the duties of journeyman lineworker as it relates to I&C work, as well as relevant safety practices. Adhere to Company safety rules and practices. Maintain work equipment and area in a clean, orderly condition. Basic/Required Qualifications • High School Diploma/GED • 3+ years job-related experience • Line & service experience (TOP work – performing tasks in and around energized primary conductors (predominantly 23KV) inside & outside Minimum Approach Distance = 2’7” • Possess the skill sets of a Journeyman Lineworker Desired Qualifications • Post-high school degree through trade/technical school or college specializing in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent experience • More than six years job-related experience including installing, programming & troubleshooting electronic equipment, controls & telecommunications • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communications skills • Demonstrated interpersonal skills (ability to work with others) • Ability to obtain knowledge of & apply specialized software applications • Live within 30 road miles of hiring operations center (note: relocation assistance is not provided). Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Night shift

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician - B shift Company: AISIN North Carolina Department: Maintenance Location: Durham, NC Position Summary Maintain the condition of the manufacturing equipment. Repair and/or replacement failed components, read and interpret programmable logic controllers and circuit analysis, and perform preventative maintenance measures when applicable. Troubleshoot unknown problems with the equipment and develop short and/or longer term repairs that are geared towards improving quality as well as efficiency.
