Join us to Secure Success!RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains company vehicles by performing intermediate repair and maintenance duties.Must be willing to operate company vehicleInspects fleet and training vehicles and assesses nature and extent of damage or malfunctionPlans work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and experienceRaises vehicles, using hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicleRemoves unit, such as engine, transmission, or differential, using hand tools and hoistDisassembles unit and inspects parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and thickness gaugesRepairs or replaces parts, such as gears, wheel hubs, brakes and bearings, using technician hand toolsUses basic computer diagnostics and electronics troubleshootingMends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken partsReplaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories, such as mirrors, and windshield wipersMaintains required documentation of maintenance and repairsResponsible for quality control reporting of vendor partsAssists with shop clean up, including workbench, tool carts, work area, machines, and equipmentOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalentOne year of experience as a mechanic or combination of vocational training and experience requiredMust have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record for the last five yearsASE certification preferredThorough knowledge of automobile parts and operation, and mechanical repair proceduresBasic knowledge of diesel parts, operations, and repair procedures requiredMust be able to operate mechanical tools including tire machines, balance machines, battery chargers and AC vacuum motorsMust have own toolsEffective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organizationMust be able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completionProblem solving skills with an analytical thought processAbility to adapt to a rapidly changing environmentABOUTCONSTELLISConstellis protects critical priorities safely and efficiently around the world. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company safety standards. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may also be required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 100 lbs.
