Overview: The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for producing pricing and construction design packages and provide some technical support to the construction project teams. They are continuing to develop their system and application skills. Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include: • Produce Engineering Documents: • The individual is responsible for producing two types of engineering documents; pricing design documents and construction design documents. • The production of these documents will be the responsibility of this individual. • Pricing design documents are used primarily for establishing budgets and documents value engineering for projects that Bernhard Engineering is not the EOR. • Construction Design Documents are primarily produced when Bernhard Engineering is the EOR. • Conceptual Design: • The individual is responsible for developing conceptual design strategies and associated documentation. • Technical Support for Operations: • Assists more senior engineers in providing solutions to operations teams for ongoing projects. • This includes, but is not limited to, code research, product research, detail drawings, and calculations. • Mentoring of Other Employees: • The individual is providing mentoring to other employees, either within or outside of the department. • Public Speaking: • The individual is required to present to groups of three or more. This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to the Director of Engineering. Qualifications: Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications • They must have 3-5 years experience. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors. • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications • N/A Travel Requirements • 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. Physical/Work Environment Requirements • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Climbing stairs. • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. • Quiet environment. • Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds. Design Specialist - Mechanical

Job Title: Design Specialist - Mechanical Job Family: CN Position Description: Conduct Mechanical Systems analysis, provide input and perform technical reviews, mitigate potential design risk, identify and solve construction challenges, and generate optimization opportunities for pursuit and execution of design-build and design-bid-build systems projects as related to mechanical work. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities: • Perform technical reviews related to Mechanical Systems of projects to assess constructability, examine design details, perform quantity takeoffs, and recommend construction sequencing and logistics. • Evaluate energy model work performed by others for compliance and accuracy. • Evaluate LEED compliance for Mechanical Systems. Perform life cycle cost analysis for Mechanical Systems. • Review and evaluate project specific designs, program intent, contractual obligations, division of responsibilities, and deliverables. • Review and assess project documentation, drawings, basis of design documents, specifications, reports, and shop drawings as related to mechanical analysis. • Examine mechanical documents for compliance with local/national code requirements. • Propose potential solutions to the design/construction team for design optimization, challenges, and constructability improvements. • Evaluate and provide guidance for project non-conformances and operations issues. • Establish constructive and effective relationships with internal/external project team members, mechanical and plumbing subcontractors, engineer of record and clients to facilitate understanding and influence design and project development. • Collaborate with linked design disciplines to improve the coordination of design concepts (e.g. geotechnical, structural, code-compliance, building envelope and facade, Architectural, MEPS, vertical transportation, acoustics, and fire). • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
