Mechanical Designer Technician Dynamic Concepts USA Location: Nashville, TN Reports To: General Manager About Us Dynamic Concept is a global leader in aluminum and molten‑metal process equipment. We design, manufacture, and integrate robotic skimmers, automated transfer units, filtration cells, and turnkey systems that enhance casthouse productivity, safety, and sustainability. What You’ll Do · Conduct preliminary design studies, including tolerancing and clearances of mechanical parts and assemblies based on standard manufacturing methods · Design various types of industrial machines and automated equipment · Create 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings in SolidWorks · Select mechanical and automation components (actuators, bearings, sensors, etc.) · Review and verify CAD drawings for accuracy and completeness · Produce material lists (BOMs) and support manufacturing follow-ups · Provide site supervision during equipment installation, fit-ups, and commissioning · Ensure designs meet internal quality standards and customer requirements · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in design and production processes · Integrate best practices and continuous improvement methodologies into mechanical design workflows · Participate in design reviews and quality audits to maintain consistency and reliability · Ensure compliance with the company's quality management system and contribute to ISO-related initiatives · Analyze design failures and non-conformities to identify root causes and support corrective actions · Visit client sites and fabrication shops as needed · Take on-site measurements to support installation and design accuracy · Participate in technical meetings, safety reviews, and team design discussions · Perform all other related duties as assigned What You Bring Required: · Technical Certificate or Associate Degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or related field. · 3 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting (internships included). · Proficiency in SolidWorks and creating detailed fabrication drawings · Experience with stress, deflection, thermal, and tolerance engineering calculations · Ability to develop full fabrication packages and coordinate with manufacturing teams · Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. · Good communication and teamwork abilities. · Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, multicultural environment · Familiarity with ANSI/ASME standards and GD&T. · Familiar with Machinery’s Handbook standard design practices · Willing to travel 10–20% Preferred: · Experience with robotic or automated molten-metal equipment · Familiarity with FEA, thermal analysis, or motion simulation · Basic knowledge of PLC/HMI controls, sensors, and safety systems · Experience working on international projects or with global teams Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • Health insurance • Paid time off Application Question(s): • Training for this position will require travel to Canada.
