In-House Landscape Technician (Mechanical Specialty)

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented In-House Landscape Technician with a strong background in mechanical work to join our facilities team. This role involves maintaining the landscape and grounds of our property while ensuring all mechanical systems related to landscape operations are in excellent working condition. This includes routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of landscape equipment and systems such as irrigation, lawn mowers, small engines, and related tools. Key Responsibilities: • Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and mulching. • Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical landscape systems such as irrigation lines, valves, timers, and sprinkler heads. • Diagnose and repair issues in small engines and landscape machinery (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, and tractors). • Conduct preventative maintenance on all landscape equipment and keep detailed service logs. • Operate machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently in accordance with company guidelines. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grounds and equipment storage areas. • Assist with snow and ice removal operations during winter months (if applicable). • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company procedures. • Collaborate with other team members on landscaping projects and seasonal displays. • Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in small engine repair or mechanical systems preferred. • 2+ years of experience in landscaping with a mechanical or maintenance focus. • Proficiency in operating and maintaining landscape machinery and power tools. • Knowledge of irrigation systems, including troubleshooting and repair. • Ability to read equipment manuals and interpret technical diagrams. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL may be a plus). • Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). Work Environment: • Outdoor work year-round with exposure to varying weather conditions. • May involve working early mornings or weekends during peak seasons. We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer, who will report to the Quality Manager, to build upon this reputation with an unwavering commitment to meticulous production. We are actively seeking a results oriented technical professional with strong leadership skills responsible for creating and leading an experienced team of well‐established contributors in the aluminum extrusion industry. This is a strategic position which is critical to the success of the identified work process and daily business goals. This position interacts with all structural levels. This role is a model for plant leadership, driving the vision and living the values. This individual will act as the ISO Management Representative with authority to identify and evaluate quality problems and to recommend and initiate effective solutions and corrective actions. This role will work directly with Operations, Senior Management, and the Sales Force. What You’ll Be Responsible For: • Collaborate with customers quality and engineering personnel to determine critical to quality (CTQ) features and review manufacturability of design. Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production. • Conduct oversight of internal auditing program and corrective action system (internal and customer driven). This will involve coordination with internal auditor pool to ensure compliance with the audit schedule, calibration, as well as participating with internal and outside audits. • Lead and maintain material review board process (MRB). • Analyze internal/external nonconforming and rework product trends. Lead corrective action efforts to establish prioritized reduction plans on cost of poor quality. • Develop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of advanced composite materials and applications (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals.) • Identify and evaluate quality problems to recommend and initiate effective solutions and corrective actions. • Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques. • Implement quality assurance programs that effectively monitor product manufacturing in a way that results in company compliance with regulatory standards for third party audit and customer product requirements. • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Quality department to identify problems, examine solution options, implement action plans, and provide resources to resolve customer complaints and concerns. • Develop and submit PPAP documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements. • Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and startup. • Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans and Inspection Plans. • Assist in defining program control plans using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ensure conformity. Ability to measure parts using height gage, caliper, micrometer, and other measuring technologies. • Assures that all prescribed records and documents are properly completed and maintained. • Responsible for establishing and maintaining program of evaluation, feedback, and corrective actions with supplier base to improve quality, delivery, and reliability. Actions will be coordinated with internal process observations and improvements. • Lead process improvement teams when required. This includes assisting with corrective action development and training. Assist in conducting system, product, and process audits. • Works collaboratively with production team on product quality. Supports the continuous improvement process through development and training of the work force. Technical Skills You’ll Need to Have: • Formal training and previous experience as a Lead Internal Auditor. • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt is preferable. • Project management experience. • Background in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). • Attention to details and problem-solving (e.g., 8D’s, A3, DMAIC etc.) • Statistical Process Control (SPC). • Advanced Microsoft Office skills. • CAD experience is a plus. What You’ll Need to Have: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical or Chemical; Metallurgy or Material Science degree preferred. • Five - seven years’ experience working with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). • Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e., intuitive understanding of mechanical processes) • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment. • Customer quality assurance experience. • Certified Quality Engineer. • Automotive or Aerospace experience is preferable.
