Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Summary The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for mechanical engineering design and will create final construction drawings throughout the entire construction process. This role will provide technical oversight and serve as a mentor to less experienced design engineers or drafters. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, contact 269-927-0144 or careers@bodwegroup.com Essential Duties and Responsibilities Typical functions of the Senior Mechanical Engineer’s job include, but are not limited to: • Produces engineering design elements consistent with project specifications. • Produces design elements and troubleshoots flaws in accordance with the project hours, scope, and parameters. • Produces engineering construction documents based on project specifics. • Manages project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client accurately and timely. • Provides assistance in the preparation of proposals and engineering agreements. • Provides project coordination with in-house and outside sources. • Provides timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes, and standards consistent with company quality standards. • Accurately and consistently execute the QA/QC process. • Produces accurate and complete engineering project specifications within project parameters. • Provide timely billing of projects to the accounting department. • Actively participates in post-design activities and represents the company in client meetings through construction completion. • Actively mentor junior engineers and designers. • Follows established company policies and procedures. • Engages actively with other company members to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs. Education, Experience, and Technical Skills Required • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Architectural Engineering. • Minimum 8 years in mechanical design engineering in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry • Real ID or Passport or must be obtained upon hire • Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals • Excellent communicator, organizer, and engager • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing demands and priorities • Initiate and enjoy independent problem solving • Successfully incorporate feedback and manage multiple points of view • Demonstrate excellent language and written communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams • Expert level proficiency in utilizing Revit to apply BIM Modeling knowledge to various architectural and engineering projects Preferred • PE Licensure • Eligibility and interest in obtaining PE Licensure Working Environment When not working from a home office, remotely, or onsite at a project location, most of this role is performed in a professional office environment. Additionally, this role is required to attend site visits. During site visits, there may be exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, such as being outdoors, being in indoor non-temperature-controlled environments, and maneuvering into tight spaces to scan existing electrical power and lighting systems. This will include weeklong travel, working long days (12-13 hour days) to complete 3d scanning projects. These weeklong trips are occasional (3- 4x per year). Physical Demands • Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. • Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access technological equipment required for the role. During site visits, this role requires the ability to traverse various project sites and buildings that will have uneven surfaces. • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper. During site visits, this role requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to set up scanning devices that will scan an existing structures heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and piping systems. • Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines. • Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information. • Seeing: This role requires the ability to view existing building structures inside and out to determine where scanning devices should be placed to get the required scans for the project. • Carrying/Lifting: This role requires the ability to lift up to 30lbs to transport technological office equipment to and from various workspaces. Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer Job Description The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for the assembly and testing of solenoid-operated valves and valve systems. This role requires a team-oriented individual with a broad range of technical skills and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, hands-on problem-solving skills, and a drive for manufacturing excellence. The position is part of the New Process Engineering Team, focusing on assembly, building fixtures/tooling, work instructions, and planning. Responsibilities • Create and maintain process documentation, including process flows, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and tooling planning. • Design and implement custom test and assembly equipment, including jigs, fixtures, and tools using 3D CAD software. • Generate detailed engineering drawings, including mechanical prints for components, complex assemblies, and pneumatic/electrical schematics. • Perform time studies, process capacity analysis, and machine/tooling planning. • Validate production processes and equipment to industry and customer standards. • Conduct training sessions with operators, technicians, and supervisors on new processes or technologies. • Provide engineering input during the product development and design phases. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, quality, and production) to integrate process improvements. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling, equipment, process flow, and material handling. Essential Skills • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but Manufacturing Technology or Electrical degrees are acceptable. • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (process, manufacturing, or tooling engineering). • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Solid Edge. • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and material properties. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). • Experience in lean manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, SPC, electromechanical assembly, precision components, and valve manufacturing. Nice to have qualifications • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, and SPC. • Experience with electromechanical assembly, precision components, or valve manufacturing. Work Environment The Manufacturing Process Engineer will report to the Engineering Supervisor over New Processes and work on a team with four other manufacturing process engineers. The company specializes in the design and manufacturing of pneumatic and fluid control valves, valve systems, and customized products for various industries. The workplace encourages learning and skill development, offering a collaborative environment. Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some flexibility. • 60% on the floor and 40% in the office.
