Entry Level Mechanical Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities DHE is looking for an entry level full-time mechanical engineer to work as part of an integrated, multi-disciplined design team in our Kalamazoo, MI or Grand Rapids, MI office. Responsibilities will consist of mechanical system design and commissioning, including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, fire protection, and temperature controls. The best person for the job will be able to succeed in a casual work environment with a client-focused, yet highly professional culture. Curiosity is a must. Qualifications • 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Architectural) • Limited experience in Mechanical Engineering is expected, but shall be capable of obtaining professional engineering licensure • Fluent in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) software • Experience with Revit software and LEED and/or commissioning credentials a plus Salary and Benefits • Salary shall be commensurate with experience • 100% company paid medical and dental plans for employees and spouse/dependents • Company-contributed Health Savings Plan • 40 hour work week and minimum 80 hours paid time off in first year #J-18808-Ljbffr

General Summary Western Michigan University invites applications for the position of Chairperson in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This is a full-time, fiscal year position located primarily on the main WMU campus in Kalamazoo, MI. We seek a scholar who will lead the department in a strong learner-centered research university. Major Duties • We are looking for an innovative leader who will develop and implement a tailored strategic vision while supporting university and college strategic plans. • The Chair will support the undergraduate and graduate teaching missions of the department, including curriculum development, program assessment, and continued accreditation for undergraduate degrees. • The Chair will mentor faculty to achieve research excellence and continued growth of external funding. • The Chair will communicate department achievements with appropriate stakeholders and interface productively with industry, alumni, and the community. • The Chair will cultivate strong interdisciplinary relations with other WMU departments for education and research and foster shared governance.
