Position Overview Do more than just build! Our Mechanical Engineers execute the design of HVAC systems involved in building construction projects. In this position, we will rely on Mechanical Engineers to assist senior engineers on project related tasks while they learn and advance their skills. Typical responsibilities associated with this position include drafting, calculations, and designing system components under supervision. Candidates must be able to perform basic drafting, have a B.S. degree in a field related to Mechanical Engineering and possess a fundamental knowledge of HVAC systems. This candidate will also assist senior engineers to complete calculations, studies reports and drawings. Essential Job Functions • Operate BIM Software. • Read and understand construction documents, floor plans and equipment details. • Operate computer software such as Microsoft Office programs to perform engineering tasks. • Assist in the design of HVAC systems under supervision. • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed. • Perform load calculations under the supervision of a senior engineer. Requirements • Minimum Education: B.S. degree in a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA. • Basic engineering or construction background. Here's what you'll need • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university • At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems • At least 5 years of design project delivery processes experience • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience • Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical requirements per ASME and ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes, and other related standards, such as ASHRAE • Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components • Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications • Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel Ideally, you’ll also have • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure • 5 years of experience as a facility engineer • Working knowledge of design-related deliverables, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Details, and Equipment Plans, etc. • Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM360 • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams • Passionate about buildings and construction Other Requirements Location • This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton, CT.
