Mechanical Engineer

Established multi-disciplined consulting firm is looking to add a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to their Beaver Dam, Wisconsin team! Responsibilities: • Primary engineering contact for architectural K-12 and public-sector projects • Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs • Coordinate with utilities, permitting agencies, and code authorities to secure timely approvals • Participate in public and board meetings as needed for school and municipal projects • Mentor/train junior staff • Lead mechanical system design for a variety of building types (HVAC systems, ventilation and energy recovery systems, building automation and controls integration) • Design of domestic water, sanitary, and storm plumbing systems • Conduct load calculations, equipment sizing, pressure loss analysis, and energy modeling • Develop detailed construction drawings and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools • Stamp and certify mechanical construction documents in support of permit submittals and construction • Review designs, respond to RFIs, and support construction-phase services • Provide accurate cost estimates and support scope development for new projects/proposals • Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering • 8+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design • PE License • Experience with K-12 and/or municipal building projects preferred • LEED AP, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or related credentials preferred • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IECC, IBC, ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, and plumbing codes) • Proficient with Revit, Bluebeam, and mechanical system modeling/selections tools Salary is commensurate with experience. MEP Project Engineer I

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a MEP Project Engineer I (OFCI) that will be responsible for providing analysis, management, and resolution for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) field coordination issues with project team members and participants. RESPONSIBILITIES • Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons; implement the pre-construction quality plan and obtain/maintain necessary construction permits • Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Non-Conformance Report, and equipment coordination matrices; manage contract documents and lead the 3-D coordination process • Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including RFIs and correspondence; incorporate processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase • Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program, including implementing the three-phase inspection system and assisting the commissioning process • Manage submittals, set up register, prepare transmittal forms, coordinate submittal processing, and expedite submittals to ensure material deliveries align with the project schedule; communicate submittal process details to subcontractors and suppliers • Provide periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architect; coordinate subcontractor details, verify insurance, prepare paperwork, and request final payment; lead project closeout activities • Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders; implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-built construction documents; incorporate subcontractor as-built documentation in contract document revisions • Determine alternative work methods, coordinate safety and compliance, maintain schedule timelines, and effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience • Minimum one year of construction experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor • Current driver's license • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills • Intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback • Ability to travel up to 100% A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week) • Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage • Dental plan • 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match • Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves • Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance • No-Cost mental health tool and conciergewith extensive work-life resources • Tuition reimbursement • Adoption Assistance • Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $82,000 MIN - $110,700 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
