Basic Job Functions: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams, as well as vendors and contractors, to plan and prioritize maintenance work, and is responsible for leading the mechanical maintenance team along with the Supervisor, to gain results in safety, performance, operational reliability and cost efficiency. Responsibilities include: the execution of effective maintenance processes including preventative and predictive maintenance programs, team member training and development, identification and implementation of process improvement opportunities and project management. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
