Responsibilities: • Perform mechanical design work in SolidWorks, including: • Machined parts • Weldments • Sheet metal • Assemblies • Part and assembly drawings • FEA analysis • Research and specify mechanical components and parts • Draft models for various mechanical and structural projects • Produce layout and detail drawings, including parts lists and BOM • Conduct field verifications, measurements & project site visits as needed • Create pneumatic schematics using AutoCAD/DraftSight • Perform pneumatic testing and troubleshooting • Conduct design reviews with customers • Assist with equipment builds, testing, troubleshooting, and installations • Travel occasionally for equipment installation and startup support (less than 5%) Requirements: • * Mechanical engineering degree (or comparable). • Demonstrated ability to make independent design decisions. • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM, AutoCAD, MOAB generator, and PB-specific tools/processes. • Routinely supports or mentors peers. • Capable of troubleshooting both tools and designs independently. • Comfortable creating drawings and using FEA with minimal effort. • Communicates clearly and thoroughly; volunteers information proactively. • Requires minimal oversight on medium-level projects until final design review. • Successfully managed projects independently. • Independently specs parts, maintains vendor relationships, and researches solutions internally and externally. • Proficient in pneumatic design; schematic and 3D models align accurately. • Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical and pneumatic issues. • Able to collaborate with controls/electrical team on PLC-based equipment. • Thinks strategically about customer relationships and project outcomes and offers suggestions to support both. Lead communications, set or support direction setting, build new and manage existing relationships; addressing issues as needed. • Documentation – Compile and/or develop documentation to meet program deliverables and move development process forward. Review documents prepared by PIC’s for completeness and quality.
