Senior Mechanic

Position Overview Advanced level work involved in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of powered light, medium & heavy-duty vehicles/equipment, including gasoline and diesel engines, attached rolling stock and related mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronically controlled systems. Summary of Job Duties Troubleshoots, repairs or overhauls full range of systems, sub-systems, and major components on light, medium and heavy duty vehicles and equipment such as gasoline or diesel engines, supercharged or turbocharged engines, turbine engines, transmissions, gear reduction systems, planetary gears, pneumatic brakes and power take offs, differentials and transaxles, electronic fuel injection systems, ignition systems, charging and starting systems, emission control systems and related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel and other systems. Diagnoses problems and makes repairs that can be accomplished by removing, replacing, adjusting or cleaning defective parts or components. Replaces or repairs components such as sensors, water pumps, spark plugs, brake shoes, mufflers, radiator caps, condensers, engine gaskets, belts and hoses and complete assemblies. Services air conditioning systems, flush radiators, replace antifreeze solutions, align front ends of cars and trucks. Adjusts brakes, transmission linkages, engine idle, voltage and control valves, clean or replace filters, screens, batteries, cables and clamps, services gasoline and diesel engines and their related components including heating and cooling devices, fabricates, welds and cuts metal parts using arc welder or acetylene torch or other methods. Services and repairs vehicles and rolling equipment that becomes inoperative in the field. Records parts used, repairs and maintenance work done for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Identify and obtain repair parts using Fleet Services protocols. Assists in maintaining an orderly, safe, and clean work area. (Performs Related Duties as Required) Minimum Qualifications and Requirements Valid driver 's license with an acceptable driving record. Must obtain State of Ohio Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements and pass D.O.T. exam within probationary. Equivalent to high school diploma. Five (5) years within the last six (6) years recent on-the-job experience and training that demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and abilities in the repair & maintenance of a variety of vehicles and heavy-duty equipment or ASE certification/recertification as an ASE Master Truck Technician OR ASE certification/recertification as an ASE Master Automotive Technician OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements. (Other Evidences May Be Substituted) Required to provide own tools. Supplemental Information Must obtain State of Ohio Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements and pass D.O.T. exam within probationary period. Must obtain /retain ASE certification or successfully complete 16 hours of approved job-related technical training annually.

Foil Conversion Design Engineer

Job description On Line Design, Inc. is currently looking for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, in Kettering, OH (South Dayton), that has expertise in designing converting lines and a primary focus on Thin Foil substrates. This is not a remote or Hybrid role. All work on site. Must be U.S. Authorized. Job Title: Senior Design Engineer - Thin Foil Conversion Summary: The Senior Design Engineer will develop manufacturing systems to support the manufacturing and production of battery cathodes and anodes using patented processes. The disruptive process addresses the limited supply and rising costs of battery materials faced with traditional cathode casting and anode manufacturing process. Key Roles and Responsibilities The primary responsibility of this position is to develop, engineer, design and assist in the manufacture of high-volume manufacturing cathode and anode equipment and introduction of new products using electroplating processes. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the candidate will lead and participate with various teams to design and build custom manufacturing equipment using patented process and transitioning them to high-volume manufacturing. Familiarity with commercial standard foil handling systems is paramount. You will work with suppliers to specify, purchase, and set up equipment for the company’s projects and establish a baseline performance. Responsibilities • Design mechanical systems and assemblies from concept to production using 3D CAD software. • Develop documentation to support the design and development process, such as design specifications, design decision documents, engineering testing/analysis documents and reports, and well as verification procedures. • Lead and participate in design review presentations. • Contribute to R&D efforts to facilitate ongoing product development. • Produce detailed component and assembly drawings to be used in manufacturing and assembly. • Select major system components that satisfy design specifications while understanding tradeoffs and the overall impact to cost, availability, obsolescence, reliability, etc. • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs in accordance with company guidelines • Thoroughly document your work in accordance with company policy • Provide support to production and troubleshoot technical issues • Train manufacturing personnel • Maintain product quality through compliance with the companies ISO 9001 certification • Troubleshoot and lead root cause investigations and corrective actions in process related defects. • Effectively communicate the status and results of projects to managers and executives regularly through verbal and written communication. Required Capabilities • Minimum of 5 years experience with foil or metal converting/conversion • Direct experience with advanced part and assembly modeling techniques using 3D CAD software • Strong experience with creating manufacturing and assembly drawings • Experience designing electro-mechanical devices and systems • Basic proficiency with PCs in a Windows environment including Microsoft Office • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal • Understands safe design stresses in both static and cyclically loaded components • Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as it related to structural loading Requirements The ideal candidate will have a commitment to safety with primary experience in foil converting systems. Additional Requirements • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint, CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc. • Experience building process flow diagrams and process & instrumentation diagrams, as well as building mass-energy balances for processing plants. Working knowledge and experience with process simulation software is a plus • Strong and independent problem-solving skills. Experience with diagnosing issues using failure analysis techniques and recommending solutions • Bulk solids handling and powder processing systems, including powder blending, powder/spray coatings, crushing/milling, mechanical sorting/sieving/separation • High temperature thermal processing/calcining systems • Understanding of the flow behavior and characteristics of powders as they relate to reliable handling system design Education Requirements and Experience Minimum education requirement, Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 - 10 years of industry experience.
