As an Upfit Engineer at our Bucyrus Ohio facility you will help develop configurable custom CAD models, documentation, and truck package layouts as part of our upfit operations. This role will work on the continuous improvement of our engineering processes to provide consistent high-quality documentation to the shop floor with a highly customized product. Communication of design intent, documentation, and troubleshooting with shop floor personnel is common. Some testing and hands on prototype assembly may be involved, along with the following: • Project management of new product development projects. • Creation and ongoing maintenance of detailed piece part, assembly, and drawings. • Development and maintenance of item master, bills of material, product descriptions and routings. • Support sales on bid requests including cost estimates and liaison for design input. • Selection of materials and purchased items falls under the leadership and responsibility of our design engineering department in cooperation with sales, marketing, sourcing and various operations groups.
